^ 100% my reaction to mustard too! Mayo has its place on a turkey sandwich. Otherwise, I don't love mayo, but if the alternative is mustard... >>
hahahah that does not sound very pleasant!! :p
omg you feel more strongly about mayo than you do about MEAT ?! that's so funny! I do totally understand. I like mayo probably more than I should. I agree though haha they should just keep the condiments off to the side for people to add after. plus if the sandwiches are premade with the condiments they get all mushy and bleh 🤢
Yeah, I mean, if someone forced me to eat either meat or mayo but I could choose which one, I'd have to go with the mayo on moral grounds, but I'd have much more of a visceral reaction to having to choke it down. That would not be a pleasant scenario lol
Exactly. Even if they can't offer sauce on the side (like simple pre-made bagged lunches for a bunch of kids at summer camp) I'd rather just eat a dry sandwich than have something I don't want on it. Don't they know kids are picky?! I wasn't even a picky eater; they just found the ONE thing I wouldn't eat when I was a kid...
Mayo for me
🕷️ wo die stimme schweigen ☘️
would you have to choke down the mayo like without eating it with anything else? because in that case I would have a real hard time choking it down as well. I would probably vomit lol. I just like mayo in things! haha.
haha agreed plus it's healthier without the condiments anyway! I was a bit of a picky eater when I was a kid but now I love most things.
good choice :p
okay so the results are:
MAYO: 6 MUSTARD: 6
Oh, well if it's going to be proper torture it would have to be either plain or at least really prominent, like poured all over some fries until they're just swimming in it. gag If it was just a little bit mixed into potato salad or something that wouldn't be that bad, especially if it's vegan mayo. If I can detect that weird slimy egginess then it's a big nope.
gets it, nice signature lol
- Denz I cannot believe you are walking around the public forums in that man-kini!! Sorry but your vote does not count
- So can you not eat anything with mayo in it? Like you even hate potato salad? Haha. I love to dip fries in mayo and have chunky lil bits of mayo nom nom!! I really need to try vegan mayonnaise though. Also I would just like to say that that was Denz's signature before I made this board 😂
..."chunky lil bits of mayo" 😳 That is cursed.
Well, like I said, if I can detect it, I'd really rather not! Potato salad that's heavy on the mustard and pickles and light on mayo is ok. Not really my favorite but I don't mind it. It's even better if it's made with vegan mayo because it doesn't have that true egginess going on, but it's still too close for me to find it acceptable on a sandwich. Basically, there are a few foods made with mayo that I can tolerate but it's real easy for that to go wrong if there's just a little too much...if I was making my own potato salad I'd just skip it. Maybe use vegan sour cream instead? I don't know, I don't make potato salad.
For all you mustard peeps have you tried watermelon + mustard?!?!?!!
hahahaha 😂 sorry not sorry.
& Ah, understandable haha. Mayo is notttt for everyone.
watermelon and mustard!???? that is just foul, Alice!!
If honey-mustard counts, I’ll have to vote mustard then. Still kinda conflicted choosing between the two though.
I mean has anyone ever tried spicy mayo??!
Testing...testing.... Is this thing on??
- Honey mustard is delicious and def one of my fave sauces. Spicy mayo is so good too!! Do you like spicy mayo? Have you ever tried honey dill sauce?? That's another favourite of mine
- Absolutely! The only times I ever got to eat spicy mayo is usually when it's drizzled onto sushi. Adds some real kick to the flavor imo.
I've heard of honey dill sauce but I don't ever think I got a chance to taste it. Sounds delicious. :D
Are there any foods that pair well with honey dill sauce?
Testing...testing.... Is this thing on??
- Ooooh yes!! So good on sushi.
Honey dill sauce is really good! I used to buy it but you can make your own just with mayo, honey, and dillweed. I looove making crispy oven roasted potatoes and dipping them. Sooo good with the dill sauce. Goes well with chicken/chicken fingers and salmon as well.
- Now that you mention the recipe for the sauce, I think I may have actually tried it once. I can't be too sure but there was a restaurant that served fries that are outta this world.
They came as an appetizer with a side of some kind of sauce? The flavor sort of reflected how you described the recipe.
But I'm definitely gonna have to give that a try with salmon next time!
Testing...testing.... Is this thing on??
i love both but mayo is the most versatile so it wins for me
- Mmmmm that sounds so good! Do you remember if the dip was sweet? Cause there's also like a lemony dill dip for fries as well which is yummy.
The cafeteria in my high school served chicken fingers and fries with honey dill sauce and to this day it is the best honey dill sauce I've had. I still want to call them and ask for their recipe lol. Would that be weird? :p
& Yessss do it!
- haha good call!
