|| || Haha, I bet you do! What's your most memorable comment you've received? And it's still throwing me for a loop even tho I know it's not real! XD;

|| || I apologize for the late reply. I went and played some 7 Days to Die, then started to watch some horde base videos on YouTube and ended up searching for a graph paper notebook only to realize I tore what I drew in it out and gave it to my friend. I printed some out and then drew outlines for said horde bases from the videos. Needless to say, my manic kicked in and even tho I am tired, sleepy, here I am still awake. ^^;;

They're very beautiful <3 And I got your sMail, but haven't read it yet. Playing catch up on pings right quick. :) ❤️

^^ That is so cool! Such rich history in your family. To be named after a respected elder is cool, better than my experience of being told I Look like them when I was young. (apparently I have my grandpa's nose, like 'yay, such a flattering feature..' lol) ..I don't mind so much now.. he's passed away about six years ago now, but I've always respected him and kinda wanted to be like him..
I haven't said as much as I'd like about your family's name history. (words are ..hard to focus some today..) But I enjoy etymology and where words and names come from. :)
^
^ Hope you're enjoying your day with the wee ones! ( o.o <3 ..was there mention of pie..? mmm!)

:3 I learned the best bear hugs from my dad. We'd have competitions to see who could squeeze the breathe out of the other, and/or pick the other up. (a feat I was very proud of being able to do when I was just a teenage girl..) ^^" Yeah, Eitleoidhme is actually the one that introduced subeta to calie and I. Currently, we're living together in my (now deceased) grandparent's old house. There've been serious talks about one of my sisters buying it from my parents (who we're renting from right now). On the one hand.. 'yay! I'm not lonely!', but on the other.. 'argh! hardly any personal space'. (I have been trying for Years teaching (read: lecturing) them to Knock before entering my room. There are times I feel like I still just the little sister..) ...and on that note, I am trying to find a job that pays enough for a good apartment.. So... in essence.. Yes, I am spending my holidays with them. ^^"" (sorry, for that verbal vomit of my issues...)
We do always try to get each other wishlist stuff here on subeta. (I consider it making up for what I Wish I could afford to get them in rl, like a car.)
On a lighter note, what will you be up to these holidays? Anything interesting? :)

^^ I tried to decorate my subeta tree and it gave me a glitch where I only saw the back ground and I was like 'hey! Let me just decorate the background!' --" and then it didn't save.. So I haven't gotten around to finish decorating it yet.
:( I'm sorry you lost so much nostalgia ornaments. That's kinda how my mom would decorate, with the handmade ones, but she would choose a 'theme' like of red balls and tinsel (?the long frilly stuff? forgot the name for a moment...Garland! :D ), or blue ornaments and ribbon. Perhaps you could make some with your hubby and/or family to recreate good memories of each other and moments that are special to you? They may not be made at that point in time, but they can still be special. :)
I'm hoping that I'll get my sister's old 3 ft tree when she Finally gets a new one this year. It's fake, but then I can keep it in my room and decorate with all my stupid ornaments that 'aren't allowed' on my parent's tree or the one we'll have in our house's living room (cats. Ours can be a Liiiitle destructive sometimes...Try looking up cat-proofed christmas trees. ^^' they can be hilarious. I saw one hanging from a ceiling, decorated, to keep them off. Lol ..not all cats are like this though. :) My dad's indoor/outdoor cat just kinda likes to rub against the bottom branches. ..or play with the stringy garland..) Yeah, I can understand your dad not decorating so much (my dad's the same way, we have to drag, convince, bribe with eggnog, whatever to get him to help sometimes). :( I'm sorry about your mom. It's good he has your sister there. My mom is the 'center of the spiderweb' as I like to say. With the covid thing recently, I've had to start thinking more on her age and health. ...there's some years my parents aren't really feeling the decorating spirit, so I ask if I can put them up for them if I promise to take them down for them come January. It usually works. They enjoy them, but are just too down to put them up sometimes.. Perhaps you could offer yourself and hubby to decorate your dad's house? (if you think it would bring him joy..? i dunno..)
I don't know what 'machine' you'd need to make a wreath? I always just asked for the trimmings off the bottom of our live trees (when they trim the bottom branches so it will fit into the tree stand for water). Usually they would let me have extras from other's trees if they weren't hoarding them to sell as wreathes themselves. They are already kinda curly, and you can use wire to hold them together. It might help to get a ring of strong wire/ wreath maker thingy from a nearby craft store. But it Is possible without a machine. :) Maybe you could even ask a tree farm for extra branches without buying the tree..? (it probably depends on the tree place..)
^
^' The 'lights sparkling under the tree'? I almost thought I could do it even With the fake tree at my parent's place. She has it sitting on her glass coffee table. But apparently there's padding underneath it. Alas, I shall have to find another way to surround myself with glittering lights.. <3
reads another post of yours.. Your manic sounds like me sometimes.. ^_^"

"the wardrobe is a goat and annoys me constantly" XD ..made me giggle So much! lol
"but what would be lumi if there were no glitches and failures" nods nods =_=' True words.
o.o' please don't say we'll glitch for those too. I can Hope everything will work out..!

<3 Hugs and prayers for you and yours. I hope you're having a good day. Squishy Bear Hug <3

^//^ Aaw! Thank you! I wanted to make something with some of the black friday treasures. I'll probably change it soon to be more festive. I really like how cheerful your avi is! (like, yes, I know they're not exactly 'smiling' but the color! the lights! It's cheerful! :3 ) ...also, I love the eye makeup. Quick Ninja Bear Hug Then Dashing Off To The Next Victim Friend lol <3

Cool! :D Congrats Tinker! Bear Hugs!

... Okay, so I totally got distracted but I remembered and now I'm all worried again... So, my mom's health issues kinda make me think of that game where you shuffle pieces of a pisture around in a box until you get the right picture..? (dunno if That made any sense.. probably more than the cowboy hat story..) So one of her issues is my parents think she might be getting too much oxygen? But when she doesn't use one of the machines she has, she doesn't get enough. Her hair has started to fall out at an alarming rate for her. And her memory is fizzing up sometimes. (There's more, but I can't remember all the details of the doctor visits..) It's the memory that really is getting to me. She's been the center of the web, finger in all the pies, person for our family. She keeps my dad calm when he gets frustrated with the world, she's a steady ear and advice for us girls, she's a safe place for other relatives... She forgot what a flamingo was yesterday. She asked me if there was an 'H' in Christmas today. This is Not normal for her. It's come rather suddenly (not over the course of a year or more, but rather a couple months).
I'm worried. And I try to be cheerful and do what I can for her and ignore what I cannot... but ..I know that's not really the answer either.. But if I focus on it too much I'm worried I'll fall into a depressive slump again, and it takes me a while to get out of those, and I do not have Time to be depressed. -_-' ..I just.. I don't know what I can do for her other than what I already am, and I don't want to make her stressed (which I have a talent for making people frustrated sometimes..). le sigh.. i dunno, just wanted to vent a lil'..

I do hope all who bothered to read this far are having a good day. Love you all. Bear Hug <3

^_^" Unfortunately it's an old house and certain times of the year the door frame shifts so it doesn't even truly latch (at those times I leave a random lightweight object there to hold the door). There is no lock on the door, and it's one of those weird hollow doors that's old so even the little tape I put on it for a poster once peels the finish off of it.

...I mean.. I guess it's okay for times like when I pass out at my computer and they turn the light out for me or something... but then there's those other times where I'm just like 'No people', y'know?

Btw, your avi is so cute! :3

|| || When Lumi first started, for days it wouldn't let me do backgrounds OR decorate my tree. Now, it's not giving me too much problems.

A lot of things were made as school projects. There was one time we did our handprints in clay that hardens and then painted it and our names on it. Another time we did homemade ornaments. Aha! Tinsel is pain the arse to clean up! But it's soooo pretty <3 And I'm not even sure if we have garland. My hubby's baby sister gave us the tree and a bunch of different things. I know there's lights. That's about it... ^^; That is such a sweet, good idea! I'll definitely have to look up easy ornament crafts and gather the necessary items to do such. Def would be special <3

I hope you get that 3' tree from your sis when she gets a new one! I'd love to see a photo once you're done decorating <3 I'm especially curious as to what the 'aren't allowed' ornaments are. And honestly. . . I don't think there's ever a cat-proofed Christmas tree. I did see a photo and post on either FB or somewhere else, of someone hanging the Christmas lights onto their cats Cat Tree instead because "they tear up the tree". I'll have to find it and send you a link to it.

Aha! I'll be putting up and decorating our Christmas tree with the help of Hubby, when Hubby gets home from work tonight (he's a second shift worker; he works 4PM to 3AM). I'll have to like video the cats and their curiosity. And I'll probably then post it to FB and TikTok for all to have a little cheer/amusement. And my fur babies get into EVERYTHING!! Especially Moon.

Yeah. And it's okay. Some days are worse than others, but I try to remember all the good, positive loving memories and honor her the best I can. And my lil bro lives there too, but he's either at work, his friend's house, his girlfriend's house or playing video games on his downtime in his bedroom. I like how you phrase it: 'center of the spiderweb'. Tho I'll be honest. . . spiders scare the hell outta me IRL. xD; Sadly, I would def love to do that! But. . . I live approx. 6 hrs away from my Dad now. I'm originally from KY, moved to OH to live and be with Hubby (fiancé at the time; we just got married in April, I moved here in Feb.). We are near Lake Erie. (Not sure if it would bring him joy or not. He might see it as it was Mom's and his Mom's fave time of year and just depresses him more, ya know?)

This is the machine. It helps clamp down the wrings on the wire frame But I honestly don't know the correct name for it! There's different brands, sure, but it has an actual name! And I just realized, when looking for links, that they have wreath frames that don't need the machine, so that's exciting! I'm not sure where the nearest tree place is or if they'll do it, but that is a good idea/suggestion!

Maybe. . . hang little fairy lights in your room?

I've been manic so much lately it's not funny! I was up over like 30+hrs once. I've been told that someone now knows what I would be like if I ever got drunk because I was up for like 36 hrs once... ^^;; The term "slap-happy" was implied. ❤️

Hello Bears...hope all are well and staying warm.

- what a lovely treasure dear Chookie made for you...she has the skills and the heart. YES our Subeta friends are real for sure and I'm so grateful for that. I came here when I was working far from home and I was so lonely...found wonderful people here. I thought when I was finally home I'd not be on Subeta anymore but here I am...real people for sure ❤

- I enjoy your posts. I sure hope that the problems with your mom can be sorted with meds...or adjustment to meds. Years ago my mom had problems with memory and fatigue and turned out one of her meds was too high of a dose...it was adjusted and she was so much better.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi :)

Nah, my grandmother moved in when my mom was in high school back in the ...70's (?). I think it was built in the 50's, and there was only one owner before my grandma. (I say grandma because she got a divorce and remarried, but kept the house. Three sets of grandparents, whoo)

I don't think I ever got to do the 'handprints in clay' craft as a kid. I remember seeing sets in stores when I was older and thinking that would've been fun though. We did do crafts at home though. We were kinda poor when I was little (I didn't realize until I was older, so that just shows how good they tried to make it for us.), so we would cut up old Christmas cards that we had received previously and like, glue and glitter them, and put pretty string to hang them with on them. [yikes.. My written form of the English language can be atrocious sometimes.] I love tinsel, but we couldn't have it for many, many years because it could be eaten by our cats and hurt their digestion. My dad would tell us stories of when he helped set up their tree when he was a kid, though. He somehow electrified it enough that when his sister walked past the tinsel would reach out and zap her. (ever heard of Patrick F. McManus? yeah.. dad was a lot like that as a kid..)
Well, there's bunch of different ways to do garland if you want it. 1. Go to a dollar store. They have some cute decor this time of year sometimes (might depend on the type of dollar store admittedly). Cheap doesn't mean ugly. 2. Make your own. This can be done with bits of fabric tied together. Or those little puff balls found in the kids craft section (try to get the bigger ones or you'll be at it a while). :) We did the puff-ball one last year. Got a Lot of red balls and a few pieces of differing shades of green felt. I cut the felt into an approximation of holly leaves and we'd string a good amount of the red balls, then a couple green holly leaves, then some more red puff balls. We were all kinda working on our own strands (unless we got tired and let someone else finish). In the end, we could tie them together to make a longer one, or have a lot of shorter strands. :) We still have them this year and up.
:3 I hope you have fun with any Christmas crafting!
Mmmm... I guess it's not really 'not allowed' so much as 'mom doesn't want a chaotic-looking tree anymore, had enough of that when we were growing up, she wants one that has the Most special memory ornaments and a theme of color (red and gold one year, blue and silver another, etc.)'. And at our house it's 'not allowed' because my sister doesn't want the cats to eat anything they shouldn't (they're dumb sometimes). Or it's too fragile to be around cats. They have a history of knocking our tree over At Least once a day during the holidays (towards the end it starts to last longer as they get bored). Like, I've got a fragile rainbow ice-cream cone my grandma got me one year, but I also have a minion from Despicable Me and a Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony (I worked with kids for years, I ended up liking the silliest things. ^^'). But then there's these random glitter-covered keys I got myself one year? Like, none of it really matches, but it's all me. Y'know? :)
Wow, that is dedication to put a tree up that late at night, but I guess it could also be magical to be the only ones awake and playing with festive things. :) I hope you both have fun! Ooh! Drink some cocoa! yum.. <3
:3 Moon is a cute name. I don't remember if I've asked before, but what kinds are your cats?
It's good to keep positive. Perhaps you could convince (..bribe...?) your lil' brother and sis to decorate..?
o.o" spiders scare me too. Unfortunately, one of my sisters dubbed me the spider queen during October. It was Horrible! They kept showing up. I had one horror story from childhood about a spider, but now I have another horror story. This one was Bigger... shudders..
Ooh! (I'm a bit late..but..) Congrats! on the marriage! ^
^ April sounds like a beautiful month for it.
Ooh.. Six hours does sound like a lot.. Lake Erie.. I assume you get a lot of ice this time of year? ":) cold.... I don't know what your dad's like, but maybe you could talk to him about it? Tell him you want him to feel happy and the joy that the holidays bring to you and others, and want to help. Tell him the ideas you have and see how he feels about it. Even if he decides to not decorate much, it can still get your feelings across of how much your care for him and love him. I imagine losing a spouse would take more than a couple years to not feel the hurt. So it will probably just be little steps over the years. But a little step is still a step. Even if it's just one little thing you all used to do together or something. That's a good something. :)
..I cannot figure out How that machine works, but I think I've seen it before at some tree farms that sell wreathes too..
^_^ Yeah, I'll be hanging lights in my room as soon as I can get ahold of some right sized batteries (those things are Expensive nowadays!). I have some that have gold jingle bells on them! :D
Dude! That's a lot of manic hours. I honestly don't know what my longest time is. I don't think I last all that long though, because I tend to forget to eat when I get like that, and my energy crashes. I'll sit down for a moment, thinking to get a quick respite the get back to work and next thing I know, I've passed out and am waking up in a weird place/ position. (falling asleep on the floor anyone? on a laptop? etc.)

^^" Haha..! I tend to go long stretches without saying anything here, then I just have to Talk to someone. y'know?
I do hope things get sorted as soon as possible. I want her to really enjoy Christmas. And for us to be able to use the fireplace (can't while she's on oxygen). And for my dad to not feel so stressed worrying for her. I'm really hoping to have my dad (in a Calm state, good lord, Please a clam state...) go with her to her next doctor's appointment on the 28th. He sees more of her symptoms than us girls do, knows all the medicines in her history and how they've affected her, and has done research into things they have worries about.
I'm starting to feel that the way my mom tells the doc some of the stuff going on with her makes the symptoms not seem as big a deal as they are. The times I've gone with her I just try to make sure everything on a prior-made list gets mentioned. I kinda let her do her thing. (I don't think my family really meant it in a hurtful way most times, but so many times in my life my opinions have been put to the side sometimes because I'm the youngest and 'don't have as much experience' and 'don't Really know..' that for some situations I don't even think to bother anymore. Which later frustrates me for not saying anything..) Anyway.. But yeah, praying dad will be in a Calm state to help with that. He's Marine And Army (36 years (?) somethin' like that.. don't @ me, it's late..). So he tends to get all defensive/ fight-for-my-girl/ heroic/ doctors-aren't-Always-right (I agree on that one). I appreciate that side of him, but it can be overbearing sometimes. Mom's always been there to balance him out.
phew..sorry for another venting session.. I just got done a bit ago talking to my sisters about this, and it's late and my brain is Done for the evening.
I hope you're doing well. ^
^' Your avi looks so calm feeling. Hugs <3

- Love the homemade ornaments and dollar store goodies you described. We made so many of our ornaments when I was growing up. My favorites were the felt and sequin ornaments ...we would embroider on them. I have not made those in years till recently some friends and I made some...now I'm making more and can't decide if they are actually cute or if I'm just enjoying the nostalgia :) I think it's both.

Oh yeah, mine just took out some corn muffins from my oven. They came out far better than in an electric. I forget if honey or any kind of jelly can top them. I'd love to make cookies, but I think I'm short some ingredients.

And mine have registered for spring, this turn its auto transmissions. For now the only unknown is if I'll be able to pay the tuition from my previous sources or make efforts to earn money for it. Mine still awaiting a call from where I've applied.

I know mine grade is an overall "A", and until I get my finals done I won't know how much it changes. But in the event I pass, mine have chosen what I get as reward. I've been keen on finding a mechanical metronome for as long as I remember, and I'm a little closer to that. Some models go for under $30 on Amazon, so I'll research what's available. I wonder if any have wooden casing...
