Protagonist/hero. Like the main polar bear from one of those animal going on a long journey and having adventures stories.

I'm getting sidekick like an anime sidekick: following the (much more bland) protag on their adventures and being the character every fan of the series likes more.

Hero. You have to save your forest.

Ambiguous antagonist. Not the bad guy, but a morally grey character that challenges the hero's mindset.

Anti-hero on their way to became a hero. The animals are guiding you

Anti-hero. You do what you want, and you look good doing it.
