i have to quit making bananabread..we havent enough people coming through here any longer to eat it all :( maybe i should just make half batches:)

Half batches might help, mine disappears like I have ghosts eating it. Never lasts around here, Rondo even gets in on the act. He likes to eat walnuts while I bake.

My husband and sons make a point of saving the older bananas for the banana bread. The darker the banana skin is the sweeter the bread. My dog is happy when I bake it, because the little mooch likes the walnuts I put in it. So I give him walnuts, not sure why but dogs like different types of nuts like walnuts, almonds and pecans. He gets them only if they have no spice on them.

Well it took 35 years of marriage to train hubby to save the dark skinned bananas. Because he will eat bananas in any condition. My 3 sons used to hide the older bananas in the cabinet for banana bread, from their Dad. Now there is only one son at home, so hubby had to start saving the dark bananas. He loves the bread, and he has a hard time waiting for the bananas to get dark enough. He will keep asking, and my middle son told always tells him. He says, "Dad she has been making banana bread for 35 years or more, she knows when the bananas are ready, just right be patient." LOL
