i appreciate y'all continuing to report here, and wanted to give some real context on what's happening.
i do monitor this thread (and get alerts to my phone) when the site is lagging or going down. the frustrating truth is that there's usually very little i can do in the moment. what's happening is a bunch of database queries get backed up, and the site can't process anything new until it works through that queue. this happens because Legacy is, to put it bluntly, incredibly poorly written. something as simple as a quick stock can create a ton of database baggage that bogs down the entire system. Kumos connects to the same database and shares the same queue, though it's significantly better at managing it. when the site goes down, i basically have three options:
- restart the database — which takes about 20 minutes to come back up, plus another 10 minutes of warming to reload the most frequently accessed data
- bring the site down for ~5 minutes and wait for all the backed-up processes to clear
- do nothing and let it work itself out
usually, option 3 is actually the best one.
the longer-term fix is what i'm already doing: moving features over to Kumos, which has significantly better coding practices and actually takes advantage of things like a dedicated queue system. every feature that moves off Legacy is less pressure on that database queue.
i also want to be honest about the money side of this. we can't afford to make our database instance bigger right now, and that creates an obvious loop — the site goes down more, folks (understandably!) don't want to pay for a site that's down, which means we have less to work with, which means the database stays the same size. i don't have a clean answer for that one. i'm just trying to code us out of the hole as fast as i can.

Error 503 after "getting infected" on Kumos (https://kumos.subeta.net/user/events).
Cannot access anything regarding Survival on Legacy site and everything just keeps crashing on Kumos with constant 504 Error codes. Can only click on flowers. No kissing and no ability to get infected. As well, no forum posts on either site to track new infections. If nothing improves over the next 24 hrs. I'm just going to give the whole event a hard pass. Too frustrating ~ just wasted real money getting a new gold account. What does that song say??? Oh yeah...won't be fooled again. :(

503 Errors for Kumos in general for me. No errors on legacy. And wardrobe on new.subeta is also working. These are the areas that I’ve tried to access that I’ve run into the 503 error on Kumos. I don’t normally use Kumos since I’m not use to it yet so these are the only ones I have quick access to at the moment and can’t test anything else as I’m on my phone.

I can’t log into the new kumos all I get is a 503 service unavailable. I can’t even start an infection.
503 / service unavailable in both Microsoft edge and Safari popping up on everything tied to Kumos. Biting, wardrobe, quests, kissing. I am unable to access anything on Kumos at all.

I can't believe, that I've wasted like 2 hours for a couple of quests, when I should be battling already. The 8th is coming closer and closer and no day I can get anything achieved. It's mega annoying.
Lots of Gateway errors on top. I just hope the sites don't start eating my items again, when turning them in breaks.
It's overall better again this morning. However there are peaks, when the site just becomes completely unresponsive, buying quest items simply resulted in "Your most recent purchase failed. An unknown error occurred." after a minute or so. And of course I got no sP plus only 15 Point Token from the Wizard!
I'm still trying to get my battles in after finishing quests et all - which, obviously again wont leave much time for the foes, if it continues...
