I don't recall a guide anywhere, but for me uncovering the mortiking in the amount of time you have is the hardest, so if you come across one of the tiles, you should give up trying to finish the level and uncover the mortiking even if you might lose the game I think I've only seen the mortiking once and I didn't uncover it in time x) Admittedly I don't play that often

Is there any particular part you're having difficulty with? I think the rest are more or less down to luck and persistence

If I'm not remembering wrong, the mortiking is 4 or 6 tiles, so when playing the game I try to go down as much as possible (and not uncover 2 adjacent spots on the same row) since it would be a waste of a dig
