Iβm a little mystified as to why people might want this but Iβm all for options so why not. Support. π
Besides that, it just doesn't feel right having something you have no choice in. Well, if not wearing a mask works, than there is a choice, but then that means not being able to participate at all, so imo it's not a very good choice.
Ideally I want to only opt-out of receiving mystery dances while still being able to initiate them myself, but if opting out means not being able to do it at all I won't miss it. As long as I can still do normal dances. And I don't mind if it also means opting out for similar things in other events, as long as I can still participate in some way.
I still want to be able to dance, though. Maybe not this year since I got everything I wanted already, but in future years. I don't want to opt out of the event completely. Hey, thatβs fair! Thanks for explaining your point of view π
Support! Because this increases the likelihood that I get more rewards, haha! β₯
This OP is not about dancing altogether. It is about Mystery Dances. And it is about consent.
It is not true that you can put your mask on and then take it off instanter as if you are microtrading with an autobot on the NYSE. There's a cache delay, and sometime costume-intensive holidays like this one and Morostide cause weird delays or defects entirely in the Wardrobe. No user can tell for sure at any time that their mask is "on" or "off". If someone mystery-dances-at-you in any of those uncertain windows, you do not have control.
The thing is, you DON'T have to take your mask off to refuse a regular ol' masquerade dance. You get an Alert that someone wants to dance with you and ...dah Dah DAAHHH....you can say no.
It's not like Subeta hasn't thought about consent, it's part of the imaginings and simulations of what dancing at a RL ballroom is like.
I know what my own topic is about.
I just acknowledged not wearing a mask works, as a workaround, but an opt-out option would still be better, or maybe being able to turn down mystery dances although that would mean they couldn't be automatic anymore.
Of course now that those borders were released I have a reason to participate again, but I'm still standing behind my original suggestion.
I think this is a good idea. I feel like it shouldn't even be that hard to code, we already have things on the site for only receiving gifts from friends etc, and at the beginning of the masq this year there was an issue with the pool where not everyone was in it to receive mystery dances already (and the Bug fixed it, bless.)
