Please do not use this as justification for lowering bite times, as it's massively disrespectful to those of us who survived COVID and those of us who lost friends and family to the virus. There are plenty of reasons to justify Staff lowering bite times without attempting to take this tack.

I agree with this post. We desperately need shorter times. Some people have waited over 2 or 3 hours to just get one bite from someone. I've never seen the boards so backlogged on biting before. I've tried to come help but it gets a little frustrating waiting so long between bites.

I think you misunderstood. I live in the hardest-hit city in all of Canada. Covid has caused a huge amount of mental stress worldwide. I personally had a major mental breakdown during Lumi because the demand had quadrupled on a thread that's meant to help bring joy to others. The strain was too much. It's not one person, one act, one thing that caused it but an accumulation. The craziness I've gone through in RL and then coming here wanting to bring joy but being bombarded with too much to handle broke me. Now I'm seeing the augmentation of bite requests is causing additional stress. I would hate to hear of another going through what I did. Mental health is important.

I have to agree with . This may be a website for leisure, but no one is forcing you to do any action on the site that is causing you severe stress. That is entirely your choice. You need to consider taking a step back and finding an alternate activity. The biting thread will survive and be active no matter who is participating on it or how long the biting timer is. We have plenty of time to be infected and collect skins.

I’m not going to address this further because it is derailing the thread. I want staff to make Survival easier for us, but it is not a life or death situation.

Yes, please. I've always been one of the "silent" biters and try to bite when I can but the long wait times just mean I end up forgetting. I can't help any now as I just started waiting to be infected again.

I concur. I just spent over an hour biting one person. Luckily someone else helped at the end. Who has that much time.

Please staff, this is what the biting list looks like right now, if you ever catch it when we finally work all day to get it small and don't believe it's "that bad"

I just woke up and and started with the first person, who has already been waiting 2 hours and I don't know if anyone has been helping them yet already. One bite and an 11 minute timer right off the bat. A list this size paired with these wait times is a daily occurrence. I have been with nvlb since it formed a ping group and I have never seen a list this long except that one year where biting was literally broken and no one could do it. Except this year we can. And it still looks like this. :(

This. Wandered onto the site this morning, thought "huh, I'll check the list" and then thought "oh my hecc. I hadn't planned on helping aside from a bite or two, but hello, my new second job."

Fully support! I feel so bad asking for bites when the list is long. I don't know if shorter times will need to be carried through to future years, but this year biters absolutely could do with the benefit of shorter wait times.

I've been awake for four hours, and only managed to knock two people off the bite list in that time. x_X Would definitely be helpful if the cooldown was shorter.

I'd be helping with the bites but hey, I can't tell who got bit, who's left, and the timer so. Oh, and how could I forget that the forum pages hang.

I haven't bitten anyone yet this year cause the wait times make it too tedious for me. I would feel more inclined if they were shorter.

I've been trying to help with biting when I'm infected. In over 200+ bites, I think I've gotten max 3 times under 10 minutes. The wait times are just insane.

I hadn't realised this was such a problem so I'm pitching in! The list seems a bit shorter now so hopefully this problem/thread has attracted more biters? I agree 10-12 minutes is too long :s

I never said it was life or death. However, with the additional RL stress, we don't need more. The main point is that it is causing stress having long wait times due to higher demand. So, if you don't think it causes stress then hey, don't make a thread about it. I am allowed to voice my opinion. You have no idea what my life is like and I don't appreciate your judgemental statements. It's not the first time either, so get off my back once and for all otherwise, I'll report it as harassment.

Moreover, no one answered the more important point: When will staff read this? Has anyone made a ticket? What's the point of having a thread if staff isn't going to look into this or take such a long time that they'll reduce the times anyways because it's near the end of Survial and that's what they normally do.

Fully agree with this thread. This is my first Survival on Subeta, and the wait times between bites is a bit excessive! I've been helping out on the NVLB board, and the lists can get really long when there aren't that many around. I've seen people working on the same person for hours because they're the only one about with that strain.
