Yes the hover still populates with the status for frozen users

Reading the reason behind the rule against discussing frozen users has, admittedly, made me upset again, because fairly recently (earlier this year) I attempted to make a forum thread to discuss the rule about multiple accounts, which had created a situation that I felt was ridiculous, unfair, "following the letter not the spirit" treatment of the rule(s).

The thread was taken down and I was given a warning for discussing the frozen user involved in this incident.

I would love to explain what I was attempting to open a discussion about and why I felt so strongly about it, as it would contextualize my strong feelings about the rule on discussing frozen users. But it would be unavoidable to discuss a frozen user in the explanation, which would get me warned again. Frankly I'm not sure this post is 100% within the rules.

It's presumptuous of me to actually ping Keith but I'm going to do it anyway. The rule against discussing frozen users was created, apparently, to prevent "drama" on the site. What it actually does, however, is prevent open discussion of how the community feels about certain rules and certain actions of the staff. I cannot overstate how severely this suppression impacts my level of trust in Subeta staff. If Subeta's official policy is that the community may not have a say in the site's rules or the enforcement of those rules, that should be outright stated at the top of any list of the site's rules. It would be nice to know that I'm wasting my breath trying to ask that Subeta's rules are fair.

If I hover over her name or look at my friends list, it does not say frozen but if I go to her profile or try to send a comment I do get: Oh No! (user name) is frozen! This account will be eligible for clearing on 01/31/24 at 3:00 pm. Please note: Due to a glitch, it may clear one day early or late.

If you have any questions about rules you should file a ticket to get a definitive response from staff.

My first question was if my frozen friend could use her name when she starts over again and I got this answer: "Thank you for writing in, and frozen account usernames are made available after 12 months of inactivity, just like with any other account on Subeta. After 12 months of inactivity, the username will be available for someone else to take." But my second question was if her pets would go to the pound and I got this answer: "Subeta doesn't delete frozen accounts, so the pets remain there indefinitely."

So Jovi, if the frozen account stays frozen forever, will her username be available?

If your friend is allowed to come back, and the username is available for anyone to take after 12 months, then they would be able to take the username assuming someone else hasnt already taken it.

Pets don't get put into the adoption center if someone's account is frozen (and pet names cannot be taken anymore with the new way subeta handles those), but the username (after 12 months) will be up for anyone to change to, if they so wish. So it really depends on if your friend's username is likely to be taken by someone else or not (for example, real names or a fandom reference of some sort) versus something that is more personal or unique which most likely won't.
