I lived in such a small town, everyone knew me. So that made my bad behavior a call away to my Mom. Mom used to say to us, when we got on her nerve, to go play on the railroad tracks. Well, we did and that got my 2 sisters and I a butt whipping from the neighbor. Who was pregnant, she dragged us to our Mom. She told her through tears, she had whipped our butts and why. My Mom's reaction was to warm our fannies some more. She told the neighbor, I know you wouldnt whip them unless they deserved it. So dont be upset, you catch them again. By all means, whip them again. Well we learned Mom didnt really mean go play on the railroad tracks. It was her way of saying find something to do, besides get on her last nerve.

Oh I figure the extra fanny whipping, probably kept me on the straight narrow until the next adventure. I was mischievous, so I had probably already had been into some kind of mischief and deserved it.

Was also mischievous and my father liked to hit frequently.

The worst my Mom could do, was send me to my room. I rather of been outside. My thoughts as a kid, spank me but I still get to go outside.

Dad had a temper so it was best to do as told, made life a lot easier. Besides if you're the only one saying it wasn't me it doesn't work.

In memory, my Dad swatted 2 of my sisters and I once. I was 6 and it was memorable, because it never happened before. He refused to swat us, because he feared losing his temper. So he left Mom, to swat our fannies. I rather she swat me, then make me explain myself. Which as a kid, that was heck. Because I didnt know, so swatting in my mind was easier. Why no clue? But usually got my room, or explain myself rare was a swat to be had.

Did me good in the long run, I learned the lessons that have helped me be the person I am still becoming.

: I wasn't naughty as much as I was head-strong as a child. I got swats on the butt from time to time from my mother, but those were merely attention-getters, not retributions or punishments in of themselves, and never with a stick or wooden spoon. Mommy's disapproval was usually enough to bring me around. If not, punishments were in order and were carried swiftly.

Daddy never swatted me, but he would grab me by the ear and haul me inside to see Mommy and we'd have a conversation right then and there, usually in the kitchen. Tears always ensued. Punishments usually involved doing chores inside, like dusting, folding clothes, sweeping, or shoveling ashes. The goal of punishment was restoration, focusing my behavior on helping others rather than helping myself. Being inside when it was warm and sunny outside was the actual punishment. I loved being outdoors too. Suffice it to say, I did a LOT of indoor chores for being head-strong.

My worst offense was at Healer's Hall during my training as a healer and I was banished to the farm for nine months to pay for my sins. That was an eye-opener, going from an 'elite' school to hoeing weeds and mucking out livestock pens. But that is another story altogether...

Weldon was a perfect child, he never got a spanking, never did anything naughty and is a perfect example of a husband, father, leader, military officer... He is probably holy. His farts are like roses and lolipops...if and when he ever farts...which I don't think he does because he's perfect.

oh that will be fine .. the lockdown is extremely troubling for us all .. we have waited so long for the vaccine, Biotech and Pfitzer and now old people's homes have been closed because all pensioners and the staff were completely positive, despite both vaccinations .. it works not ... the organization does not work .. every day there are new instructions that are not thought through to the end, because our policy has no plan and they try with all means to keep people calm ... we are only allowed to wear medical masks those that make it difficult to breathe are not suitable for long-term use, but with normal masks you won't get on the bus, train or shop ... the people are aggressive and it's just frustrating .. after all, Spain opens up again and you can go there going on vacation in the summer .. if you have 14 days vacation you have to subtract the 10 days quarantine when you come home, so you have 4 days ... all crap .. even if I'm mostly at home makes me the fear that I have nothing more to do and no longer needed ... I pray that I will at least find work for a few more years ... 🙏

I enjoy living in Kentucky while I was there. Although I dont miss the summer heat. Honestly, I fell in love with the accents from Kentucky and Tennessee. I worked with a Tennessee ridge runner, who loved singing and playing his guitar. So I got to listen to songs, that he was raised with. It was a window into his life, and his family with their culture special and unique. I love to learn about other cultures and music even here in the states.

I need attention getters, so I would learn my behavior had consequences. I think I had the cleanest kids bedroom in the neighborhood. My Mom has passed, to this day her words echo in my head, and so do the taps on the back of my head. LOL

After a bit it made us think twice about committing further bad behavior when the mind's eye knew there would be consequences not of our liking should we proceed. But no matter what in my younger year my bedroom looked like darkest Africa with the lights turned on. Was a terrible tom boy, in my earlier years and would run into the house to my room and hurriedly yank a bureau drawer out and dump it on the floor grab the item I needed and run back outside again.

I was a tom boy too. I had a tree to climb, bike to ride just anything outside. My room looked like a tornado hit, unless I got sent to my room until it was spotless. I am the fastest bedroom cleaner in the west. Whatever it took to be back outside building snowmen, forts or even an igloo. I learned to behave, I hated being in my room to clean.

Yep, everything just went back into the drawer it was dumped out of. Truly the last reason you would be in your room would be to clean given choice.
