Thank you everyone! I grew up in the midwest, so I've had my share of very hot and humid summers - but always with an air conditioner blasting! We've had a few hot days over the past few summers, but nothing like this. I'm tempted to drive down to Ikea just to waste time somewhere with AC for a few hours!

Look up instructions for making a swamp cooler (short version -- take a styrofoam beverage cooler, fill it with ice; cut two holes in the top, one for air intake, and one for air to go out; put fan over the exit hole to draw the cold ice-chilled air into the room.) YouTube videos will go into details of where to place the holes for best efficiency. They're surprisingly effective even if you have to keep refilling the ice every now and then.
My city usually implements cooling centers where people are welcome to come indoors to simply sit and relax. Might be a good idea to see if your city has such places for you to stay for long periods...not just for cw work but for your own personal well being too.

hey i live in the PNW as well- make sure to slap on some sunscreen even indoors as not all windows block the sunlight. sunscreen will degrade slowly over the course of the day if you're in indirect sunlight and you'll be protected when walking to/from your vehicle. wear a hat to protect your scalp, though! make sure to get plenty of water & electrolytes (water enhancers like crystal lite and store brand equivalents are good for this) so that you can properly sweat to cool yourself. you can use a fine mist spray bottle with water to help yourself cool down at night before going to bed (it has the same effect as sweating). you can cover cardboard with aluminum foil on one side and put it up in windows to help reflect the heat outward, or just put up blankets over the windows. if you live in a house, you can also spray down the roof with some water to help evaporate some of the heat off the top of it.
I am in Arizona so I KNOW heat!! I also know that you are probably not used to it so take care and DRiNK LOTS of WATER!! Really, stay hydrated 😉

I read about the swamp cooler thing WAY too late because of course there isn't a Styrofoam cooler to be found anymore! But thank you for all the tips! I hope you're hanging in there as well.

And thanks everyone again for your kindness and understanding! Today was supposed to be the worst of it (and luckily I was at work in the AC). It's definitely been a miserable few days!
Do your best to stay cool. I've got family up in the PNW and we've been checking in on him as much as we can via phone/internet. Lots of good tips and tricks floating around from hot weather area folks for y'all. I do not care one whit about seeing approvals when the weather is so dangerous and I hope everyone else is understanding. It's much more important for you and yours to be as safe as possible ❤️
I forgot today was a holiday, haha. I've done some CWs and will do a few more, but most of staff is off today including my UA buddies. I'll likely try to get some more done tomorrow and Tuesday after work :)
I forgot it was even Sunday. 😂 The big kabooms are going off now so I remembered. Everyone needs a day off once in a while, eh? ❤️ Thanks Jessi!
I'm always off Sundays (the clinic is closed) so holidays in Sundays aren't anything special to me. I just forget other people are doing things xD
NEW CATEGORIES HAVE BEEN ADDED!!!
Today I added a few new categories as well as shifted one around! Here's the details;
• Two new categories have been added to "Medium and Large Accessories" - purses/shoulder bags and sleeves!
Technically purses and shoulder bags will go on the shoulder layer like cloaks and the like, but it's a LOT nicer to just have them in their own easy-to-see category to help prevent confusion in the future!
• You may notice something is missing from the above screenshot. As of today, masks have been moved to the Small Accessory category. Why? Because today I realized it felt silly to have masks in one and glasses in the other. We cannot offer any refunds for previously-submitted masks, but future recolors of existing masks and all new masks will be a little cheaper :)
BUT JESSI YOU SAID SKINS WERE COMING!!!
They are coming! I am actively working on getting their stuff set up, and I'm hoping they'll be up in the next week :) I have to make a new category as well as guidelines for them, so it's taking a bit longer. If you have some skins waiting in the wings, please just hold tight and they'll be here before you know it!
That's awesome! So the real question is do I have to request to get all my releases changed to purse category now lol
you don't need to request OLD things be moved to the 'purse' category. Just submit any new purses, including recolors, in the purse category :) The ones the previous categories were in won't affect releasing new recolors!
