@ Luchs Yes, you're right. Looks like it was a glitch and you should file a ticket. I'm sure staff will resolve it quickly. :)
[edit] I'm sorry if I missed it, but if we are an artist submitting our own CWs, is it okay to pay the extra "artist" fee to have a second copy sent to ourselves? I am thinking how handy this would be to have an extra copy on hand for presents or giveaways, but I understand if it's not allowed.
You know how items in cw shops for sale used to show up during a shop search? How do you find them in cw shops now? Like looking up a specific item. I know items are in shops but do not appear on the shop search feedm
I know I'm not Jessi, but yes we are allowed ! She had noted back in the "Changes coming" board that we can pay the extra and do as we wish with them. (For reference, so you can read the exact wording, ">the post !)
I've been using the directory to find who put it through and going to their shop. I'm sure the shop search will have it back up in no time.
Ooh excellent! I wish I had noticed that instead of bothering Jessi with the question again. XD But thank you so much for chiming. :)
Sorry, this is like the 3rd ping from me today alone (are you sick of me yet?) but I added a new important Q/A to this that I wanted to make you all aware of!
Q. What do I do if the original artist of my CW is different from the recolor artist? A. Please include both information in your submission! For the "artist" fill-in, you can put either the original artist or the recolor artist (be sure if you are doing a half-price artist copy, you put the person that should receive it there). In the notes, please include BOTH artists. For example, you can put Cathii as the artist if they did the recolor, but the notes should say "Original item by boo, recolor by Cathii so we have all the information needed.
Quick question on the submissions bit: for recolors should we be doing items in the same category the original was sorted into and just adding notes if the layer doesn't match up? Or should we be putting them into the category they best fit now even if it's a different price structure than the original/previous recolors?
For the submissions I have in now I went with the category the original was sorted into and just stuck in notes and my questions in the notes but I figure the answer to this might benefit from being in the FAQ so we don't all keep asking you haha.
You put it into the NEW category it matches, rather than the previous. This is actually in the Transition guide!
Oh dang haha. I'm sorry! I thought I read it thoroughly and definitely did not headdesk
it is a LOT of new info! Totally understandable to miss something!
I definitely left you some additional dumbass question notes sorry lol. I will be better in the future, I swear :P
Some of the base prices don't seem to align properly on some of my old releases. For example a hair accessory that has several recolors, one of them is priced higher than the others. Should I file a ticket to get the incorrect ones fixed?
can you submit a ticket and ask for it to go to me so I can look into it? Thanks!
Sorry if this is obvious or already answered somewhere, it's my first time doing this...
edit: thank you for the insight!
Yes, you can. It's something I've done in the past but have tried to move away from. However if I ever do it again, I will be doing what I did for my Zombie Skull, putting who said it/where it's from in the description as well. That isn't needed, but if you're at all worried about it put it in the notes and see if it crosses a line. But so far we've been allowed !
I couldn't seem to find this rule again, but there used to be a rule about Public VS Private domain items. Is this rule still in effect?
(The old rule stated you could not use another artist's reference (from somewhere like Deviantart, Etsy, Pinterest, etc) as your reference, as that's considered private domain.)
yes, that is still very much true! I swear it was in the rules but I'll double check after work and correct it if not :)
I may have missed it, there is a lot of information to look at! But thank you very much for confirming :)
Question for recolors done by other artists. I was wondering if we could get recolors that we don't own done but where owned by accounts that are frozen. Like the CWs are owned by the frozen account.
Seeking, click here! Please let me know if you are selling
I'm having trouble understanding exactly what you're asking, so here are two answers depending on what it is!
If you mean an artist drew a CW for you and is now frozen and you want to do recolors - that would depend on your terms with the artist. It is NOT okay to color another artist's work without their permission.
If you mean is it okay to take a CW submitted by a frozen user, do recolors, and submit it under yourself, the answer is no.
Also, it's worth noting that if a user was frozen for anything art or CW related, we will not accept any CWs drawn by them, even recolors. Staff cannot tell you why a user was frozen, so you would need to discuss that with the user outside of Subeta (if you are in contact with them I mean).
