I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long, but I'm in the middle of pulling up carpets, moving furniture all over the place, sanding floors and putting tung oil on the wooden floors. I'm currently sleeping in the loungeroom with stuff, stuff and more stuff around me. The bedrooms are nicely bare so it's easy to oil the sanded floors. Anyway, this process has taken a number of weeks as the house is being done in sections.....the trouble with moving the furniture is you begin to notice other things - like the ceiling needing a good paint, not to mention the walls. :( :( I really hope to get most of this finished in a few weeks more.

Thanks to everyone who very kindly added me to Luminaire giveaway notifications. I really appreciate you thinking of me! Unfortunately I've only been on to visit Melody's Cottage and to do the tree. My tree is very boring so I won't be putting it in the competition. I'm loving the ones that people have put up so far!! Do we vote for the trees? I seem to remember doing that last year, but maybe that's a false memory.

, you're right, there's always a voting period where people can send me their person top 3 trees and I choose the winner from there :) It's from the 19th to 26th this year.

Oh boy do I remember those days. One project just leads to another. It will be so great when you are all finished and can sit back and admire the improvements. Yup by this time next year I pray we will all have been inoculated and living much better lives. (hugs)

I thought I would pop in and say hi. I am trying to participate as much as I can in fun site events/contests/Secret Santas that different forum groups and discords have been doing. At least it makes the site a bit more interesting and something to work toward. :) I have yet to do any Luminaire shopping. >.< I should probably start. lol

The matches for Secret Santa Round 1 have been sent, so keep an eye on your smails :) Now is also a good time to double-check that you have a good selection of items within your price range on your wishlist for your Secret Santa to choose! Giving itself starts on Monday.

I know it has to be done, but still regretting it with every swipe of that scraper! Thanks though Shirley, hoping to sit back and admire it one day :)

What is everyone up to for Christmas? It's summer here in Sydney, so all the families go to my sister's because she has a pool (and there are a 5 kids under 8 who need to be entertained). Although it's hot, we still do a ham, but we have a combination of hot vegetables and salads. We generally eat outside at a table. I'm sure this sounds like a terrible Christmas for many of you! :) Most people I've met who've grown up in the northern hemisphere don't even really feel like it's Christmas when they're here and get quite homesick. Of course it's normal for me! (We have a snowy Christmas tree in real life though. Who can resist? Snowy trees are so pretty (artificial of course!). Also I have White Christmas on my Christmas song playlist lol). So what will you be doing?

That sounds like a lovely Christmas to me ! You never have to worry about the road conditions and wonder if you'll be able to get to the family party like we do. 😄

I am probably going to just hang with my dad for Christmas. I am kind of sad because I haven't gotten to see my mom or sister in almost a year now (last Christmas) and it feels like I won't see them again any time soon. Just stinks. At least my dad is up in NJ with me (they are in Florida). Just a quiet Christmas I guess. Your Christmas plans sound nice.
