I shaved my head in August, and it was the best thing I've ever done with my hair. It's grown out a lot, I look like a 2008 emo/scene kid. (With less edgy cuts, cause I haven't actually had a haircut). I'm AFAB femme-leaning genderqueer. And I think my gender identity makes it a little different for me, I'm not super upset when people misgender me. Which does happen.
I found it highly empowering 10/10 would recommend. If you hate it, you can grow it back out.

I think you should go for it! try a new thing. and if it doesnt work out too well, there's some cool wigs you can buy. I want to shave my head once I move out , would help with reducing headaches.
As someone who has shaved their head, I honestly vote GO FOR IT. The first time I did it, my hair was well past my shoulders and I hadn't told anyone I was going to do it. It was honestly one of the most freeing moments of my life. Ever since then, I've been convinced that everyone should shave their heads at least once.
Plus, as an added bonus for me, cutting off my hair really helped with gender identity things but I don't know if that applies to you!
Everyone must be able to do with their hair whatever they want, and gender must not be a problem to do it.
I think it was a fun experience though and I'd like to shave parts of my head again in the future but I don't know if I'd do my whole head again lolol
I think it can look really cool and pretty! It also sounds fun to be able to wear a whole spectrum of wigs, without having to tuck a bunch of hair away first! You could also have some fun with tattoos on the scalp that show when you're bald and are a secret when your hair grows back! Lol.
Hi there, I'm Maple! ^w^ Come on over to my Twitter to see my (SFW) artwork!

I had a side-shave for a few years! I got insanely cold for awhile because I have stupidly thick hair xD it was really easy to take care of. And cut my hair care in half, basically. It only got awkward when I finally let it grow out xD it stuck straight up and out for a few weeks xD I honestly kinda miss it.
Tilda Swinton rocks as bald.
I shaved my head four years ago and I don't see myself ever going back to anything but. I just buzz it down once a week for maintenance and it's good to go with a washing in the mornings. Sometimes people open their mouths and say something dumb but people are going to say stupid things no matter who you are or what you look like.

It can look great, but if you don’t have a full crown it could end up looking terrible. It feels amazing though.

My gosh I am so sorry to hear that hair stylists have treated you this way. Im a stylist myself. I had my head shaved for ~8 years. I do not ever charge clients based on gender/sex/whatever. Only length. It makes me so mad that we are supposed to be this big open, all-gender-friendly community, and yet so many stylists still base their pricing on “men’s cuts and women’s cuts” as opposed to clipper cuts and shear cuts.
It also mega irks me that stylists would fight you so much on what you want. I think a lot of us do err on the side of caution with drastic changes, but all it takes is a quick assessment of the client. How is their body language ? Stiff or relaxed ? How is their speaking ? Confident ? Unsure ? Erratic ? I guess some folks are hard to read but most of the time you can just /feel/ when someone is serious and ready for a drastic change.
I really hope you end up finding a stylist you vibe with and can continue booking with. Sometimes I get so frustrated at other professionals un my field for the way they handle their clients. People over profit, always.
(Sorry for necroposting, I’m visiting from eternal hiatus and wanted to poke around in the forums)
Tl;dr, VERY HOT!!!! <3
My gf had a shaved head the whole time I knew her, up until a few months ago. It used to be a very close buzz (guard level 1 with her razor) but she recently decided to grow it out slightly longer so she could dye it cool colors. I've always been very attracted to women with shaved heads/otherwise short hair. I'm femme who loves butches, so I'm definitely biased in this way! <3
I'm a fat girl and I spent quite a few years with buzzcuts. Highly recommended.
Ladies with shaved heads are HOTTT. And this is just my 2 cents obviously and what I think doesn't matter as much as how you feel, but I say you don't need makeup or anything to be feminine- if you feel feminine then your feminine power will shine out. I've never had a shaved head personally, but I think it would require more frequent haircuts to keep that short, so bear that in mind.
