less scary and more sci fi / psychological horror, but my all time favorite would have to be annihilation. it's an amazing surreal experience and i cannot recommend it enough!

its so hard to pick just one i had to ask my partner what my favourite is and they said As Above, So Below. another really good one is Housebound, though its definitely more of a comedy/thriller than an actual horror film. it definitely has some good suspenseful moments and scares, though!

my favorite scary movie is the blair witch project tbh -- just the ability to build up that amount of suspense and fear without ANY jump scares or even any thing actually scary happening on screen is amazing to me.

creep 1 & 2 on netflix are also some of my favorites!

Given the number of 20- and 30-somethings on this site, I'm surprised no one has mentioned I Know What You Did Last Summer or its sequel. (On the other hand, I did watch I Still Know... several weeks ago and thought, "Wow, this is really a product of its time, isn't it?") I still like them, though.

I don't watch too many really scary movies, and my favorite is probably Gremlins. :-D I've loved it since I was WAY too young to have been watching a movie like that, and although I truly feel that the animatronics in the movie have stood the test of time really well, I made the mistake of watching it a few years ago with an objective eye rather than a nostalgic one, and... the campiness of it was painfully evident.

My favorites are definately more on the monster movie side with the Thing and Alien (the first one) But recently I discovered "us" for myself. Probably because its the first likeable family in one of those movies, I have seen in a while.

Halloween (1978) and Nightmare on Elm Street have always been my favorites. I did recently watch Train to Busan which is a Korean zombie movie that&;s pretty amazing
I too love Halloween, it's my favorite movie. Have you seen the Halloween Ends?

I did watch Halloween Ends, I didn't like it. It would have been okay if it wasn't a "Halloween" movie but it was supposed to finish off the Michael Myers story and he was barely in the movie. They tried replacing him with Corey but based off all the other movies it just didn't make sense for Michael to be working with him.

Sinister was such a great movie - and it kept me guessing the whole time! The twist at the end is unreal!

i used to be a lot more into horror, but it still holds a place in my heart! that said, i really liked hereditary, get out, and honestly i don’t think it really holds up anymore but blair witch was definitely one of the scariest things i’d seen when it came out. granted, i was a tween/teen, but still. i still really appreciate media that leaves a lot up to the imagination and i do think the unseen is a lot scarier than the seen quite often. paranormal activity also falls into this category for me, though i grew less fond of the series as it went on. i’m more into horror games than movies nowadays, but i won’t say no to a good horror movie!

Perhaps not my all-time favorite, but has anyone here seen Savageland? I watched it recently and I was floored. Hands down the best mockumentary horror film I've ever seen.

Also big on the Flaniverse, though I guess those technically aren't movies.

I'm not much of a scary movie watcher especially if there is a lot of gore. But I watched Carry lately and pretty much enjoyed it. The Cloverfield trilogie was good in my opinion. And I'm a sucker for the Dreamcatcher movie (and book as well) even if it's a little bit comedic or even cringe. XD

Always hard to pick favorites,

One my friend had me watch this summer was Skinamarink which had a very vaguely unnerving vibe the whole runtime, so I'll offer this one up for now. :P
