Honestly, I think the date needs to just be fully reset. This is going to keep happening unless items change on the 1st of each month, every month. How much time is staff wasting fixing duplicate items? They could be doing something productive in that time. There's no reason for this to be clogging up tickets. Its an unnecessary headache, disappointment, and waste of time for everyone involved - both staff and users.

And beyond that, how long until people get sick of being jerked around with the items? Of all things, this needs to be consistent with items finished far in advance. There needs to be a queue of items waiting so they are added to the site on time every month. Subscribers should not be paying (especially paying extra) just to have to spend additional time & energy to get the correct items every month. Longtime members are used to chaos and disorganization, but this is a paid feature. People shouldn't have to file tickets to get the item they paid for.

We are working on a better way to distribute these items so that people don't have to file tickets every month. We obviously did not anticipate or intend for this issue, and we agree that it is an issue so something has to be changed.

It isn't as simple as changing it to a different date like the 1st; you'll have the same problem just for a different set of users, on a different date. We do have a more robust solution worked out and under discussion. We'll update when we can.

Your patience is appreciated; as mentioned, a lot of staff right now have reduced capacity for working due to IRL circumstances outside of our control. Please be kind to the UAs who are handling your tickets as well. This is not their fault and they are here to help you while we work on a better solution.

Hello! I'm back with an update on this issue. Moving forward, it will not be possible to receive the same special item twice in a row. If the new item has not yet been released when your subscription renews, you will receive it when it is released instead.

This new code is not backwards-compatible by default, but I've done my best to make sure everyone who wrote a ticket this month will not need to write one next month. I hope I didn't miss anyone, but if anyone still receives a duplicate in early October, please write us a ticket so we can make sure you never have that issue again. :)

This will be posted again more visibly as October 12th draws nearer, but I wanted to update you here for now.
