"that one teal shoe could be r95" i'm laughing so hard at this and i wish i knew why oh my god
anyway i'm so excited about this!!

Oh, now THIS is exciting!! Love the recent realization that it’s 2020 dammit and Subeta can create its own business model. And I’m REALLY happy about all the communication, even when y’all aren’t quite sure yourselves!
EDIT: ALSO burgundy retired items are always super expensive and idk if they were higher rarities when they were restocking but it’s always silly when I see a burgundy shirt priced at tens of millions compared to the same shirt in blue
I'm starting to get lost trying to remember all the proposed changes that are coming to the site in the (near?) future x'D I'd love to see some kind of updates page with all these new adds listed and super general concepts of how much progress is there ("Super early stages" or like "In late stages" ??) With a big ass notice of "No deadlines" or "It's done when it's done." (quote courtesy of Joel Huenink lmao)
I am pretty curious to see how this all plays out but I'm always happy about moving towards more simple systems of organization. I look forward to hearing more details about the shop and quest overhauls that Keith outlined as well.
Ooh I always wondered about the rarity. I like this update

Rarity rationalization may be fun, it's fun to organize things. But it isn't going to do the things many users posting here think that it will.
sP is a fiat scrip that is highly inflationary and the site has made it even less useful by using other currencies. IME users rightly treat it as funny money even if they don't think they are doing exactly this.
The-prices-of-things-in-sP has had little to do with rarity number because some things are wanted and others are not. This is not a problem. The-prices-of-things-in-sP will be outrageously higher for some items with a rarity number that is the same simply because there are less non-restocking methods of acquiring them. This is not a problem. Rarity rationalization will not "fix" these "problems".
Subeta has instituted price supports in the form of making items more rare than their rarity number would tell you by just plain removing them from restocking than the rarity that they are for rarities higher than 65 in order to force players to pay prices to other players that they otherwise wouldn't. Even for those items unwanted ones have less value than the value I have estimated that they are being supported at. If they continue to do this and users think that their perceived problems are not fixed, I predict they will react with stubbornness and the economy will seize.
Keith, thank you for the update! This looks intriguing. I look forward to how this will play out.
Gaming rarities, niiiiice.

This sounds really exciting, I've always been confused by the numbering system. Can't wait to see how it plays out!
Oh this is SO exciting!
I am wondering what this will do to the Mystery Box I just started 'shopping' there in the last few months
Looking forward to what will happen with it all
Just going to pop in a final tease on some shop changes that we're trying out...

💖 ✨ 🤗
Hmm...that new layout reminds me of the old Gaia. Interested to see how it comes out in the end, since it looks like a prototype.
This looks like it will make restocking competitive again. I know that a good portion of people won't like this and we'll have a lot of people saying "That's not fair, my connection sucks" but, personally, this is the most exciting thing to have happened in a long time. I long for the days when restocking was practically a competitive sport. Not a popular opinion but, WOOHOO for me and the other sporty restockers.
Really really excited for this!! Rarity has been very un-useful for any practical purposes, so the fact that it's being reduced to 5 tiers of rarity is going to be so helpful. I also VERY VERY MUCH LOVE the fact that there will no longer be releases of low-to-mid-tier items with one singular item being rarity 99 and selling for hundreds of thousands of SP in usershops.
I know I usually kvetch about changes on the site because I Am Old, but this is really really great.
EDIT: So shop restocks will be limited to certain days per shop, or am I misinterpreting the Mauve screenshot? Is this to prevent the auto-restock system frazzing out every time there's server instability?
