I just finished Golden Son, book 2 in the Red Rising series. Not sure if I'll go on to book 3 right now or take a break from war and politics...
The Talisman is one of my favorite books lol. Why do you hate them so much, if you don't mind me asking? (and please don't feel obligated to answer if you think it would be too upsetting!)
I have to read Jane Eyre for college. Have been meaning to since the semester started but I keep getting too busy with other assignments.
Automotive engine repair and rebuilding for college Rereading K-PAX Sporadic sessions of Russian The Bible (Almost finished, under a daily guide)
Prospects include a vegetarian cookbook, On a Beam of Light (sequel to K-PAX), and reread Flatland.
What book are you currently reading? Or what's next on your reading list?
Currently reading: Mo Dao Zu Shi (The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu Thank you Exiled Rebels Scanlations The Pale Horseman by Bernard Cornwell (Book 2 in The Saxon Stories) Death Masks by Jim Butcher (Book 5 in The Dresden Files)
Next Up (For Me): The Lords of North by Bernard Cornwell (Book 3 in The Saxon Stories) Blood Rites by Jim Butcher (Book 6 in The Dresden Files)
Next Up (For the reading clubs I recently joined): Reverie by Ryan La Sala American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis
Today's question: What are you most excited about in the coming weeks/months either on Subeta or in RL? (suggested by , thank you!)
My answer
On Subeta: Pandemic
Real life: End of pandemic

I've gotten started on so many books but then I got distracted after like one chapter and it's been so long that I'll just have to start them over again. I actually have a whole pile like that but I only bothered to mention the one I've been reading recently enough to pick back up again where I left off lol.

I haven't read that book but I'm familiar with that feeling. I abhor the character Dr. Smith from the original Lost in Space so much that I hate the entire show because of him. He is the absolute worst; I can't stand him and I can't stand the rest of the characters for tolerating him. I've never felt such intense antipathy toward any other fictional character; he just makes me want to yell and throw things. Oh my gosh I loathe him so much, ugh.

I didn't know K-PAX was based on a book, or that it was a whole series! I found that movie very intriguing. I'll have to add those to my list of books I may or may not ever get around to...
On Subeta: CW changes Real life: Christmas holidays

To answer the day's question; SNOW! WINTER! I'm excited for my favorite season and to say goodbye to pollen and leaf mold (AND GOODBYE PUMPKIN SPICE SOON, HALLELUJAH) and I'm super looking forward to snow. I think it may have snowed a bit last night, actually, it looked like there was a bit on the roofs early this morning before the sun was quite up, and it's hard to describe my stupidly childish excitement over getting snow so soon in the year. (My beau mentioned we'd gotten some a week or so ago, actually, which is a bit weird for where we live, but does not stop my childish glee over snow.)

Inapplicable, nothing excites me anymore.
I strongly suggest reading the book instead, the movie is too different. Some major details were omitted, which diluted the experience if read after viewing.
Fireside and Lumii for the beautiful item art!
Real life? Nothing.
On Subeta: I am looking forward to getting to 1000 achievements (only 10 more to go), black Friday sale, fireside and lumi... I was mostly a casual player so this is the first year I will really be involved in the different events.
In RL: graduating uni if I ever finish my last assignments
Well, I've already seen the movie, but it's been a long time. I do usually prefer the book over the movie when both versions exist but I typically still manage to enjoy both.
Well then, many surprises await.
Neat! I like surprises.
Ugh, I don't even know. I'm having a lot of irl stress and sadness right now. Luminaire, I suppose... my family is planning a little get together for Thanksgiving but I'm not sure I'll go. Or if I'll still be here when Thanksgiving happens.

Wow I obviously cannot read. XD Yeah, the guy at the bar disturbs me so much because he seems so real.
Today's question: Do you experience any Mandela Effects? (Sorry for being kind of late today, had some car trouble and was stuck late at work, ugh.)
My answer
I don't personally believe MEs are the result of shifting timelines or conspiracies or anything way out there like that. It's just really jarring to realize your memories (and our collective memories) are not as infallible as they feel. Sort of makes you question everything you think you know and makes you wonder how so many people can be mistaken about the same things.
Anyway, there are a few that really get me... -The Fruit of the Loom logo. I swear it used to have a cornucopia. Supposedly it never existed. -I always thought Hannibal Lecter said "Hello, Clarice" in Silence of the Lambs. I can hear it in my head, said in a certain menacing way. I had a spider on my windowsill that I named Clarice just so I could greet it by saying "Hello, Clarice" in that particular voice when I went near it, because I'm a dork like that. In reality, it seems he only ever said "Good morning". -I was pretty sure Monopoly Man had a monocle but apparently not. -The Tiananmen Square "Tank Man". This isn't a super strong memory for me but I always thought he got run over. I asked my dad and he thought so too. Now it is reported that he escaped. This was probably due to incorrect reporting or just a common assumption but it is weird.

Happens a lot with me! I can't think of examples at the moment though.
I'm not cetrain of any, though the quote of my pet dicekind could qualify as one. The version I use is "Powered by an element lighter than hydrogen". It comes from a Cine Mexicano about alien visitation. I only saw it once, but that concept stuck. Without any concrete reference, there's no way to identify it to confirm.
Yeah, all the time. It's pretty spooky.
The Berenstain Bears Fruit of the Loom's lack of a cornucopia Mr. Monopoly's monocle "Hello, Clarice" Sinbad/Shazam (we're probably just thinking of Shaq as Kazaam) Smokey the Bear Challenger explosion happened in 84 The Lindberg baby case was never solved
There are probably a lot more, I had to look at a list of examples to remember most of those.
