Keith, thank you for the update. I read (and actually understood) everything in your long post. Subeta is my go to site to keep my sanity, especially in these trying times. I was glad to read that Subeta will be around for the foreseeable future. There are multiple goals I am working on in Subeta that won't be reached for some years out. I look forward to all the site improvements and willing to hang in there when they don't go as planned.
I have felt this team is the best. Very helpful, concerned and on site to try to make sure things work smoothly here. The end of the [Response to April 2020] is especially touching; I have been here 9 years now and feel this is very much my virtual home, or hang out or whatever you want to call it. I spend HOURS here every day. Thank you and your excellent subeta-team.
Thanks so much for the update! Gonna be honest and say I don't entirely understand everything but the fact that you all are willing to communicate so openly about server issues/site problems with the users in such a transparent fashion is one of the reasons why I still stick around this fabulous site! Ya'll rock, keep it up and best of luck dealing with all of this!
I really, REEEEALLLLY appreciate that the update includes all of the technical information. One of the things that bothered me at the beginning of the wardrobe fiasco was the assumption that the technical side of the issue wasn’t interesting enough to communicate to users. But it helps to know the intricacies of the way the site databases work. Thank you for this, and I hope this level of communication becomes the new normal :3
Thank you for letting us know all this. :)

Great question! There are a few major versions of MySQL right now, and although most of the industry has moved on to MySQL 8 (and beyond!) a lot of legacy applications are still running on 5.5+, so a lot of providers haven't bumped to 8 yet :(

Wow! This is much appreciated! <3
Totally will continue to support this site even through the pandemic. My way to escape from RL events. Thanks for all your hard work Keith and Staff. Stay healthy and safe.

I didn't completely understand it but thanks anyway.
Like with the first update I only get to a blank page with the link.
Good to see the improvements that are on the way. I know you said the layout is "very, very alpha" but I REALLY hope the new layout isn't that plain. This current layout is so pretty and has a lot of character and I'd hate to see it so boringly simplified.
Also looking forward to the wardrobe being refined. My computer is an older model and it didn't get along with the new wardrobe very well. It either took ages to load if at all.
Thanks for the transparency, it's really been something that's lacking and glad to see it's getting addressed by staff. Thanks friends <3
I'll admit that I didn't understand all of it, but it's great to have a blow-by-blow post like this, I definitely appreciate it. I also REALLY appreciate the move to posting stuff on the news, honestly I don't look at the forums 9/10 (except for event forums) so I guess I've missed a lot (first time I've seen this "new Subeta" site). Loving the communication :) Thanks for the update!
...we’re getting minion battles?!?
Also thanks for the update and the reassurance that things are headed in a good direction.

THank you for this post. I'm wondering though, is all this behind the scene issue part of the reason that both wardrobes are not loading hair? I get nothing at all for the last week. in the new one it just shows blank and in the old one it says loading but nothing happens. I hadn't seen a report bug on it but to be honest, I sometimes don't know which part to go look at in the problems and bugs and miss things.
GOOD. I'm glad y'all finally ditched that policy when it became clear it wasn't working anymore. Thanks for the update.
Wow, that was an extremely well-written, informative, and professional communication. I have to say, I hope that sort of thing won't be the norm going forward, because I don't see how you'd have time to do anything else! I do appreciate knowing what's going on, though, tbh, once the site starts working properly I stop worrying immediately. I'm still up for those 200 drawers in the new wardrobe, though, lol!
Thank you so much for the update! We all appreciate the communication!
