: I play a two-string gourd mandolin and I sing. Weldon plays a three-string gourd banjo and he also plays a willow whistle. We often play with my older cousin Sparky and the Wheezles at the Market Day Dance on every Wednesday after Market. The whistles are very similar in sound and technique to a modern Irish penny whistle, but with a little softer tone. My mandolin can be bowed or plucked and I usually bow it during performances as a drone sound or as part of a chord. I'm not very good at it, I learned it from my friend Li Li who made it for me. It's similar to an instrument called an erhu.

Welly's banjo is tuned like a mountain dulcimer and he can play melody, harmony or chords. His favorite song is Whiskey Before Breakfast and he's quite good at it. He is a wizard on the willow whistle, and he really gets into cuttin' contests with some of the other players on stage...famously with Master Sparky, sometimes to the consternation of the good creatures who just want to dance...you can't dance to a jam session!

My Author is a trumpet person who somehow has managed to collect, by accident, several nice guitars. He complained last week that he had to restring all 5 of them because the sudden change in weather caused strings on three guitars to snap. I think he has been experimenting with alternate tunings as he learns how to play and that is stressing the strings. But it sounds more dramatic to blame the weather rather than having poor technique and being a noob.

Who? who? haha! If you still have a guitar tucked away somewhere? Bring her out and tell her how much you've missed her. They are quite forgiving 😉 It is so worth taking it up again. Just like riding a bike, you never forget. I love playing to the animals too. Very well received audience.

Oh I felt it that late night hahaha! -looks out window- It is definitely a good night for some flix or kiss anime. I'm the mood for some Ergo Proxy my all time favorite anime series. Topped of with some wholesome Ghibli :)

I had to stop playing because of arthritis. I have been doing some modifications of other things I love, so perhaps there is some hope to do this with my guitar. I have not looked into anything of that sort, so perhaps it is time. I do love making music. ♥

. You can try play beautiful classical with the likes of the 2 stringed composition. I love the Beatles for that. Or tune it to either a C major or G major and do 1 string. I gush when I talk Guitar haha! They are so adaptable :)

Today is the warmest day of the year so far where I live. I am going to spring-clean my small backyard with my pup. I can't wait for the craft stores to open up so I can buy some bits and bobs. I have the perfect space to create a magical outdoor fairy garden 😍
