Mmmm, sourdough. Freaked my hubby right out the first time he heard me say I had to feed my "mother". He loves my San Francisco style sourdough french bread, but is not wild about some of the other things i create in order to keep the starter alive. My grandmother gave me mine back in '68 on my 9th birthday and taught me how to care for it. I suspect her mother did the same for her. (My mom killed hers, she was not a sourdough fan) Today is sourdough flapjacks day. trying again!

Oh, you must travel to New England if you get a chance. The colors of the leaves are so beautiful and there are so many fun fall activities :D

- not sure what I'm doing...so many instructions and different ideas...I'm forging on today with my bread even though it appears to have "over proofed" overnight...my kitchen was warm...I don't know how to fix that or if I need to but stay tuned...hope it turns out!! :)

- you are an expert! What is your favorite recipe! How cool your grandmother gave you your starter and you still have it...my starter is only two weeks old haha and I am giving some to my daughter later today...hopefully with a successful loaf of bread but the jury is still out on that. Flapjack Day! I see flapjacks in my future later today.

You have such a good attitude about things. I am envious. I admit that I let it get to me sometimes.

Sorry I did not contribute to the potion lottery bombing for that's few days... I have only a few days in a row without rain and I have been clearing out brush and trees in a lot I inherited to put a home I am doing it all by hand no equipment except an axe and a hatchet and a few gardening tools to clean up but it's about to rain today so will be online instead of outdoors working but that's ok I needed a break I slept for twelve hours last night and that is the most sleep I have had at one time in over five years or more. .... I hope you win today and yes we will keep bombing u until u win... Like said what is the sp for but to spend on friends ...I have enough sp for a moon(or a death star) of time

I did some yard cleaning for my elderly aunt last week and my blisters are still healing. Ha!
Back when I was younger, my dad let me use a machete on some of the yard (on G-pa's farm) because the other tools were being used. After I accidentally whacked his already-busted knee..... yeah, we still joke that I'm not allowed near a machete anymore.
Now, I usually just mow the lawn or weedwhack. I'm so soft-handed... -_-" But I do enjoy the smaller things like the plants I'm ' trying ' to grow in pots. .....Half are dead now, soooo... X'D

I just watched a video yesterday on making sourdough bread. Reminds me of the bread my grandmother used to make. She kept her starter for years as well, but I would have to ask my mom what happened to it. She was always giving out loaves, rolls, sweet roll, etc. to everyone she knew.

- well my bread turned out beautiful. Looks good and smells good but I could not slice into it to see how it looks in there since I'm giving it to my daughter who will be over later today. I asked her to take a pic of the inside when she slices it. I'm pretty pleased! I'll start another one tonight but let it prove in the fridge rather than the counter in my too warm kitchen...we'll see if that makes a difference.
