Am I reading this thread correctly? No proof and you don't get your stuff back? What does that mean- go fuck yourself if you got nice gifts from friends or got lucky in donation corner one day.
This is honestly the biggest screw up I've ever seen happen on an avatar site.
I mean really it's honestly amazing that this could even happen. The wardrobe should have been thoroughly play tested on a test server before launching. There should have been backups made and double checked right before the launch. I have never seen such a major fuckup on an avatar site in my life I have been using sites like this one for two decades and people fuckup all the time- but on god this is a record setting fuckup.
I've been trying to keep up with this through the various forum posts but I haven't seen anything stating we need to provide proof of previous ownership of an item for it to be returned. I was under the impression that they planned a mass return of items based on items reported to them. Obviously with CW that will not work as well but expecting proof after this.. I'd be livid. That's real money and feeling angry, sad, and sick for that loss is absolutely understandable. I can feel less stressed about most of the Sp bought items, barring the tens of millions Sp items (I still have a hard time accepting the loss of huge sums of fake money lol). But CSC bought items and CW items more often than not cost real money, and that's not a loss anyone should have to suffer lightly. I thought it was nice that they were willing to resolve things in this way considering how hard it would be to tell what is lost and what isn't even in my much smaller than average wardrobe., especially considering that it was a serious act of negligence that allowed this to happen; and if a previous post is correct, the issue might have started before the reported date. I hope someone addressed the player in the post because it looked like their problem was pretty much ignored in the thread.
Now this? Now the burden is on the user for a mistake made by the site staff? Is there a link to something saying we need to prove we owned an item? I don't want to suggest that frustration and anger are unwarranted, just that we apply those feelings correctly.
the silence is starting fires. I know you're going through your own stuff on top of this but even a quick note addressing the issue might not be a bad idea.
Sadly correct from what I'm reading and hearing from some people. If you don't have proof you owned an expensive item or CW you can, and it seems like often are, denied for getting a copy back. So if you got generous Lumi gifts, got lucky in the Donation Center, traded with another user, ect then there is no 'paper trail' to follow on how you got the item and they're denying you getting a copy.
I thought this situation could not get any worse, but there it is. I do fear this will be the death of Subeta; so many of us are shaken now, and do not have faith in putting money into the site in any manner because the things we spent so much money on can just up and vanish due to the staff screw ups and trying to push out stuff before it's ready and now we can't get it back. But Keith has said we're only worth our data and Bug alone cannot keep this site afloat so I can't say I didn't see this coming eventually.
Would really appreciate an update from staff on this, especially on this apparent requirement of proof from us (the users) on missing items??? How are we supposed to do that? Prove that we owned an item when the data to prove it was what was admittedly lost? Also as a person with a large wardrobe there is no WAY I can even recall every item I had in there let alone PROVE having it. Sorry but this whole thing is a dumpster fire. -_- There is NO reason to think anyone is lying about a missing item, CW or otherwise rn unless they provide a list of idk 100 missing CWs.
Honestly? You're going to end up pushing people who support the site away by doing this. What happened to believing users about lost items because it was the site's mistake they were gone and relying on the honor system to reimburse people if need be?
I'm confused.
@Cresenta I'm confused too.
I let it drop that they asked me for proof because after that happened, the big announcement was made that everything would still be restored.
But if people are STILL being asked for proof, that's not even remotely OK.
also: ilu (TFW you edit your post to be more polite only to find someone else quoted the whole thing before your edit went thru, oh well, it's not like I didn't MEAN what I said the first time. It is bullshit.)

I'm super disappointed to hear that people are being asked for proof of owning their missing items through tickets, and hoping that's due to some kind of miscommunication or outdated info and not that it's intentional (not that that wouldn't potentially still be an issue, but it's a less serious issue IMHO than considering that people without proof are just fucked). Not to mention that's the kind of thing that should, at a minimum, be made public and not just brought up via tickets.
That said, for people with CWs that are now missing, here are some quick links that may help in case you DO end up needing "proof": 2019 Luminaire gifts Arctic Frost gift history -If you happen to have any CW shop passwords still in your sMail inbox, save them
The onus of proof should not be on the users because of a site/staff fuckup. I'm sure there are people willing and/or trying to take advantage of the situation, but that's not our fault either
Are you seriously asking users to prove how they got an item? And refusing to give items back without proof? No!! This was a huge misunderstanding.
Before we realized the extent of the glitch, initial tickets were asked for more information such as how the user obtained the item. This is a standard question we ask to get a clearer picture of what happened. It was NOT meant to imply that the item wouldn't be reimbursed if the user didn't have proof.
No one should've been told that this proof was required, and no one should've been told that their proof was insufficient. (We actually aren't seeing evidence that this was explicitly said to anyone, but we're still looking through tickets and we'll make sure it's addressed if so.)
Since the creation of this announcement, UAs are not handling this through tickets. They have been instructed to redirect tickets to our official report form and forum topic for more information.
We are NOT asking for or requiring proof for anything related to this glitch. Again, you don't need to do anything right now but sit and wait for staff to continue sorting this out.

I'm honestly kinda over this. I'll just let staff sort it out and if I don't have any missing items, bonus! 8D
Thank you <3 <3 <3
Edited: In my case, I definitely felt "proof" was implied, but it was not explicitly asked for. It would've been nice if someone had explained why they wanted to know how I got the CW.

Thank you Bug

I am not old. I am gracefully aged
Very relieved to hear the asking for proof was outdated <3
Thanks for the updates Bug, you're handling all of this amazingly :)
thank you for the clarification ♥ hoping this gets sorted out soon. miss my items :'(
I sure hope things can be set right, I have no idea what I had in my closet, it is massive. I have very rarely taken anything out of it. I do hope I get it back. Because 1000 sps does not cover what I have seen that could be gone. Is there a thread of all the items that were deleted?
A Flower for to Give me.
Exactly I feel so sad and disappointed and feel the same way as others above have described when we spend our dollars on your product we expect you guys to trust and believe us when you admit to fault !
Here is my answer to all this shit! Own up to your mistake Subeta and fix it ASAP! I went through the Cash Shop purchase Logs and half of the custom wearable I bought do not have a name by them! What the fuck it that! I am steaming mad and have been since this was announced!! Fix it now or there will be a lot of people leaving this site. I have spent way to much money on the site and tried to battle every challenger but this is real MONEY!!! Subeta can not replace that. The designers work hard on their designs and shops and this is ridiculous.
Bug is our hero. Thank you for continuing to keep us updated and keeping the peace. ❤️
Nothing is perfect, something will always do what we don't want. It's life. The team is doing their job so just let them do it and I'm sure they'll report back to us when they can. Chill and enjoy the event. Life things happens. They know they need to fix it, they don't need people shouting at them while they do their job. I mean if you did something wrong and you are trying to fix it you don't want other people shouting at you telling you how badly you just did. I mean who want that? Keep up the work Team.
