how's it going? I've been reading some books from Graydon Saunders which are commonly described as 'fantasy novel lost inside a civil engineering manual' - mostly they're about spellcasters who build things and the process is described in great detail. There's also a lot of back story about how sorcery changed the world historically in the series. Written in a choppy and idiosyncratic style, I enjoy the books a lot but they're very odd :)

I think there will be some students and one teacher by zoom. I don't know yet. Tomorrow it will be my first lesson xD I am quite excited to be a "student" again. I see! It's nice you prefer brighter colours. I usually go back to black and white in order to play it safe. I rarely take a real risk when it comes to combining colours on my HA (or in real life)

Interesting! I've never heard of that site before. Do you still use it? I actually came from neopets and a friend from there recommended me to join subeta. She still plays and we are still friends on here but I haven't been on neopets in years...

:-) :-) :-) So I took my daughter to her dentist appointment and then we went to the dollar store. (A dollar for anything here is generally a good deal!!) Then I came home and spent a few hours playing online and thanking everyone for wishing me a happy birthday! And I cooked some corn on the cob and sliced up a bunch of strawberries to freeze for smoothies. But the best part is my hubs smoked a whole chicken for us. Yummy!! I'm kind of boring. lol

So I can get a sample or buy it on Google Play. Someone mentioned the sample is pretty big so I'm going to get it and see if I can kind of follow it enough to enjoy it. :-P

that's an excellent idea. That's the first book in the series and it has the most complicated plot (none of them has a very complicated plot) and it's the easiest to understand, maybe (because it's trying to introduce the setting, I think). Instead of diving right into the magic, you get a view of the most powerful spellcasters from the viewpoint of the leader of one of the armies - when they go out to fight an enemy that has magic and demons! The army has their own magic, not sorceror magic but a kind of collective low-level magic that adds up to something greater than the sum of its parts.

yes, I definitely still play gothicat world! They have events almost as often as subeta. The main thing in gothicat is creature collection; you can trade them and win them in events and also you get to adopt thirty of them on the first day of every month in egg form (they hatch over time without the user needing to do anything).

the reviews are very positive but saying there's much that won't be fully understandable - so we shall see. :-)

Hahah it really depends on what exactly you are doing. If you are part of the content team for example, you need to be really creative, even skills in editing pictures and phrasing are important. Consumer psychology is important in various branches of marketing as well but all in all, no matter what you do, you need to track success and that needs an understanding of your tools and Excel is usually the safest bet :)
