I swear by a pill cutter (for pills that are not capsules and can be chopped into smaller bits) and Feline Greenies Pill Pockets.

You can also put a whole pill in there if you can't cut it up, but with a kitten that's going to be harder to get down. I'm glad she's feeling better.

We have a pill cutter but they precut the pills for me <3 and I got the two little pieces she needed down pretty easily this morning. Then gave her a treat for her "trauma" LOL.

The drops most likely stung a bit when first popped in but helped sooth, like some wound ointments are. But for him it was mostly that he HATES feeling restricted. So holding, especially holding him down in place, just ticked him off.
