[edit] That's true, but it makes little sense that these CS and MC challengers we /pay/ for (especially the ones that are in the CS) don't drop tomes/amulets at specific win numbers like the normal/friendly challengers. It's not even as though the exp payout on these challengers are particularly higher in order to make up for it.

Adding my hat to the ring of more drops beyond 10 for CS challengers. I mean... if they did that then maybe more people would buy the challengers? And yeah some of the secret challengers don't drop beyond 10, seems to be the MC challengers who don't do that, which is odd, they are in stock for everyone year round?

Your actually better off turning them in yourselves, there is a reason why people will go and buy up all the amulets to try to sell the tomes. It's an arbitrage.

Not only is it an arbitrage, it's an arbitrage so large that no matter how many times I point this out in a public forum, the arbitrage never closes.

The perception of the mage is that it's a gamble, when it reality it's a free stuff pinata.

Average tome price at the moment is 3.25m and average amulet price is about 420k. You can sell 8 amulets and buy a guaranteed tome, or you can turn 8 amulets in to the Jerkmage and get 8 shards and cry bitter tears.

Or you could turn in 80 amulets, get on average 11 tomes sell them for 35.75mil buy 85 amulets and repeat. If anyone ever wants to skip the middle man though I will trade a tome for 8 amulets any day of the week.

- lol. You aren't the only one whose gourmand pet is also their battle pet, Doesn't hinder much, and probably helps avoid the whole use vs feed confusion for the weird boosters that are also edible. And you come out on top for when subeta glitches and doesn't keep your pets fed when they are in the resort! Like right now, or last morostide OTL.

It's unprotected RNG. Making a spreadsheet to calculate percentages of tome drops for you, and turning in a large amount at once (100+) will help you have a better idea of the real drop rate than just seeing bad luck streaks and feels.
