Is anyone else worried about this COPPA thing on youtube?

look at this n the comments and a comment from a vid mentioned in there "TL;DW — The FTC is being reasonable, everything bad happening is YouTube’s intentional doing in order to continue acquiring children’s personal data that they can then sell, and YouTube is utilizing their power as the primary video service on the internet to turn what is their corporate responsibility (which they could easily follow with their own mechanisms already) into users’ responsibility so that said users will blame the FTC and bombard them with messages telling them to back down. It seems to be working as planned thus far."

So there's nothing to help? I signed a petition but there's no guarantee that'll do anything. And i don't want good channels to get punished because of YT's douchebaggery.

i dunno, i just wanna call out youtube on its bullshit so we can go after them instead of doin what they want us to do.

Oh yeah. I completely know this is all YT's fault. It's just that the FCC seems to be putting the blame on creators. The fine they charged YT was a drop in the bucket and won't hurt them a bit. But now all the youtubers are risking being put in the poorhouse and having their living taken away over something they had nothing to do with.

There was no negative reason for it being taken down, such as the TMI talk and the other stuff that has been speculated as the reason for it being offline. Just making sure y'all know.
