speed controls critical hits, if you're faster than an opponent you've got more chance of critting and they can't crit you. It's not essential, just helpful. The practical upper limit is 7k, which will avoid critical hits from everything except the T13 paramnesia opponents. In terms of battle quests, Prodigy has 6k speed but most are less than that. Depends how bothered you are by critical hits, really.

On a related note, I absolutely love having high speed. My two pets had similar strength, but their speeds were vastly different and you could definitely feel the difference. Battles are longer without crits. Crimsyn’s high speed makes things feel ‘easier.’

Okay...normal quests done, now it's time to attempt BQs. I say attempt because they can be so tedious sometimes, and I just get annoyed and don't finish them. But I am trying to save up EXP till the end of the month...I kinda have a plan going through my head for how to spend it

This is kinda battle related....last night I had a dream where you tagged a lot of us here, asking if we had all these weapons, and if we didn't, would we like yours and that you would sell them to us at a heavily discounted price.

These were weapons that you had two or three of, because they were old plot weapons (or something like that) and Subeta had brought the challengers back and you were able to earn the prizes again.

They were really weird ones too, one of them was called "kitty amulet of doom" which was a prize for beating this hyped up version of the Pink Fluffball.
