I'm still fairly sick thinking about all I spent on books... I haven't watched Survivor yet cause I watched the Masked Singer. :-D

I wondered the same thing. LOL! Like who knew crawdads could sing? So this girl is abandoned at the age of 6 and she raised herself in the swamp/marsh. Then a boy befriends her and teaches her to read and write. Some adults know of her plight and help her a bit too by giving her clothes and food occasionally. When the boy that taught her to read abandoned her too she became very bitter. Apparently she's a beauty even though the townsfolk call her Marsh Girl. Then the town jock befriends her - eventually seducing her - and that's where I'm at. I forgot there are some time jumps where the jock is found dead. Pretty sure it will turn out Marsh Girl killed him. The book has an extremely descriptive writing style and that's my favorite part of it. I've left out some things but that's basically it. I'm so picky so I figure it has to be good. :-)
