a rattle? pacifier? I know those are small items but i hope they can still work haha
Nursing Bra's! And a baby carrier is also very nice to have, i remember my little ones calming down when i carry them arround. My hands was free but the little one was still near me!
Wow, that is so strange ! Though I have heard that before. There was a time when they thought it was actually not that good for the mom to do that. I have no idea why but they really pushed formula! Luckily it seems we all get to pick and choose these days.

I really really extremely want:Thank goodness they've realized that all ways do not work for all people;)

A baby wipe warmer, a hip seat carrier, something like Nest or Ring for your home. 😊

A cradle, a baby bath, baby carrier.
Going Fishing!!! 🐟
So many awesome ideas!! How about a bottle sterilizer.
change table, bouncer, stroller..oh the list can be endless but you will need those besides bed.
My daughter had a big U shaped pillow that went around her that the baby laid on while it was nursing. Looked so comfy for both mama and babe. 👶
Books are a great idea!! I read to my daughter right from the start! When she was a baby (25 years ago) they had done this study that showed that newborns see black and white better than colors, so they did a bunch of black and white board books, just shapes, but still!

I second (maybe third?) the wind up swing. My kids actually gave me 10 minutes of peace when in it. lol My niece recently had a baby boy and I was amazed at the cool stuff available now. Some of the newer bottles have very cool scientific shapes designed for less air ingestion, which I thought was awesome. So many things... Don't get overwhelmed. It's easy to do. :)
thermometers!! always check the temp of the water and the room for the baby!!
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Hmm, I'd say baby toiletries. Gotta keep their delicate skin safe! c:
a bib! Babies spit up A LOT so that might help keep most of it off you ;) I would also say a small bed you can lay on the couch so that you don't have to leave the baby in the crib all the time
Car seat! They won't let you out of the hospital without it. Also, don't forget some items to make your own life easier and happier. You're gonna need a lot of R&R.

I'm torn!! lol there are OH so many things to remember that just save your life! Definitely that swing, I researched mine forever to make sure I got one with multiple swing speeds, vibration intensities, and songs/nature sounds at a price I could afford. Research is your friend.
My breast pump was terrible. I thought I'd gotten the best one I could, but my boobs just did not respond. It ended up being faster to just squeeze it out XD oh the hilarious moments of motherhood.
And in this house we are addicted to books. They are treated like pets and are never abandoned lol my kiddo was reading to me by 3 yrs old.
As far as things I don't think have been mentioned yet.... Look for onesies with the little fold over mitten flaps on them to keep baby from scratching up their lil face <3 <3 <3 And there are these adorable bracelet/anklets with bells/animal faces on them that help baby find their feet/hands and really entertain them. Looks like they're called wrist rattles :P

i think a good baby registry thing would be decorations and toys for the nursery, because then not only is it making a nice place for the baby, but decorations can be a lot more personal than furniture so when you see them all the time you can be reminded of the friends who got them for you. like surrounding the baby in friendship!
A swaddle for sleeping. Makes them feel like they are still in the womb and pacifiers for colic
We actually recently installed ring after having my son so great idea :)
I've read a while ago that there are these diaper bins that are airtight, so you don't have to deal with the diaper smell all the time. Quite a few people talked about how great they were, so that seems something to keep in mind ^^ Also: Stuff to take care of yourself after giving birth! Prenatal vitamins, for example. I've also read stool softener is pretty popular =)
