Your vacation time sounds perfect -- I prefer a vacation where we take a few day trips and enjoy time just being home with no schedule. It is nice to go away for a few days, but I have to arrange for a pet sitter or kennel (as I'm sure you guys do), and it's just too stressful and expensive. I live in a lovely area, with plenty of nice places within an hour or two, so day trips are always nice.

Cool items! I hope the quest-givers are less stingy tomorrow! I got some pretty cool items as well. I will edit with them soon! You describe it perfectly! I think short day trips are always not so stressful or costly (for pet sitters especially!). We usually try and go on longer holidays on the Christmas holidays, rather than 2-week long ones, otherwise it gets a bit stressful.

I stayed up until the nearly dawn, so I slept a bit late today. Which would have been nice, except that it was an accidental lie in: I set the alarm for P.M. instead of a.m.!! Thank heavens that neither of us had a place to be this morning! I hate to do stupid things like that.

There is a slightly autumnal feel to the air this morning that is extremely refreshing. After weeks of 95°F (35°C) and higher, this morning's 70°F (21°C) is heaven. What's the usual summer temps where y'all are?
