I do miss when the AC had pages of pets, it was like treasure hunting lol

I haven't used neo in probably 15 years but I remember even back then it was nearly impossible to get a pet with a good name? I think it's easier to create a pet that you're attached to here on subeta so, that + the crazy number of pet slots you can get + the friendly pet community means less pets are pounded these days. Plus, people snag colors and IDs for renaming. Even "undesirable" pets are colored by users to make them more adoptable.

I think the community surrounding pets on subeta is overall just more positive, and that's something that's improved over the years. I remember being stressed out about adopting pets in/out from other users too often because no one wanted to adopt out to "pet flippers". People seem more understanding these days and the pets forum is way more chill.

I'm glad there's not a ton of pets in the adoption center, I know I like popping in on from time to time to see if there are any cute names in there, and actually about half my pets are adopted, though I ended up changing everything about them, including their names for a few of them. I have an aversion to creating pets from scratch and I have no idea why!

I definitely miss that treasure hunt feeling of flipping throughpages of pets looking for a hidden gem! Good times.

Its a lot easier these days to find a good capped name in the pound on Neo, most of the time fantasy names like Zephilda since all the real words and popular characters are usually taken by addicted users who trade "rare" unconverted and real word/ real name ("Water", "Ashley" etc) names. Oh I also hate the converted decision so much I'm so happy this site doesn't have goofy looking customization BS here and its all illustrations still which is how it should be. Y'all who play Neo still can add me tho its on my profile.

oof yeah trading is a whole 'nother issue that I'm glad doesn't exist here haha nothing makes you feel bad & unwelcome like being told your pet is worthless

Even if someone were to tell you your pets are worthless, people value pets for so many different reasons on Subeta that it's best not to take that sort of thing to heart.

Oh, I know. Subeta doesn't even really have a "pet worth" problem since trading isn't allowed. Some colors are maybe more desirable, yeah but you make pets for you, not as like, a financial investment. Which is great!!

I'm just glad creativity is valued and supported as much as it is here on subeta :)

I loved when there were pages of pets in the AC. I really enjoyed pound surfing looking for nice pets.

Cause of the trading stuff on Neopets I got some of my accounts hacked there, my pets (UC greys, UC faries) traded away and NP support did nothing.. not even respnd to several mails I did write to stuff there.

I am happy we have no pet trading on here .

But it's not really about rejection like the insanity that is the Neopets trading game. I too am quite happy we don't have that nonsense here. It just means that pets with low IDs tend to be more popularly adopted in the AC.

As for the pound being empty, I may be in the minority here to say that I like it. Yes, there was a fun aspect of treasure hunting before, but now I can casually check the pound several times a day and see right away if there's anything good. It's almost like the BHH, except you've got a much better chance of finding something good. And it also means that I know if I want to put pets in there, they won't linger there long. Even pets with horrendous names don't last long in the pound.
