I just stumbled in here and haven't read beyond the first post, but I saw this:
I made a new pet Friday night and threw it into the rift shortly after midnight (so Saturday morning, technically). I still have the event up from when my pet returned (as RA-001), and it's timestamped as 7:00am Saturday. That's definitely not 48 hours.
You toss 50,000 sP into the Rift... After a few seconds, 55,262 sP comes flying out!
You toss 250,000 sP into the Rift... After a few seconds, 168,781 sP comes flying out!
You toss 1 sP into the Rift... After a few seconds, 2 sP comes flying out!
You tossed your Vesnali Coin into the rift and a moment of calm is followed by a flash of red lightning, before the rift shoots out !

No it's no longer a 48 hour wait for Rifted pets. It was at first because it was new and they wanted people to wait a bit before finding out how pets come back out. But then it went down to about 12 hours. That's how long my pet took to get Rifted. Congrats.
