My friend has an account that has been inactivated, but not deleted. She's tried logging in with her old information and doing a password recovery, but it hasn't worked because her email appears to not exist? Is there a way for her to reactivate her account without creating a new one?

there is a way to do this, it involves her emailing them. The email used to be readily available in the FAQ and the Rules, but I could not find it. File a Ticket in Help and ask for the email address she needs to talk to them with for her, is my best guess.

Has their username been taken? If so they need to login with the numbers too. So for example if my name was taken and I came back I can't use kore. I'd have to use kore_xxx where the ex's are numbers.

I don't think it's been taken. When I view the userpage, it says that the name is available to be switched to.

Then yeah at this point emailing is the best choice. Have your friend give them all the details they can to help prove its their account.
