I'm still reeling and horrified from this sudden and bizarre loss. He was only 3 year old! Sure he was a rescue kitty that had a very rough start, but he seemed so healthy. No obvious issues, no potty issues, ate very VERY well. Was a super active, happy, vocal boy. (I spoil them all with treats, and give unmixed wet food with added water 3 times a week, and mix it with dry kibble 2 times. Weekends I feed them real meat like chicken or cat treat tubes. He loved black forest ham, and beef sticks.) He was playing with our other 2 kitties when he went. I had them all chasing a laser pointer when he just fell over. I tried CPR but it didn't work.. Not a mark on him until later when I unwrapped his blanket to show my husband when he got home. He did have some bleeding showing inside his eyeball at that point. Nothing had ever hit him and he had not fell as far as we know. So we think he had a aneurysm? He was only 3.. I just can't get over how he flopped over and slid to a stop. He was hot on that laser dot, then down he went.. Just like that... T_T

i happened to find this just now through someone’s signature. it honestly has warmed my heart so much to know that there is a group like this. i made my pet in honor of her before she ever got sick, and have felt so weird that it is now a memorial. this has really normalized that feeling. thank you so much.

The pet links are a bit broken right now, unfortunately. They know about it, but it's yet to be fixed.

Last monday 5/9 the stray we took care of called Mr. Black had to be put down. He was thought to be very old and had a disease (FIV I think?), well anyway he stopped eating for like a week beforehand and became very weak. The vet determined he was too far gone, and we didn't think we would lose him that day. Thought he just had fecal impaction and lost appetite, they'd get him fixed up and sent home but no... He was sent home in a box. Though he was a stray and not actually owned by us we cared for him in the past such as when he developed a large abscess on his arm and we took him to the vet for it.

This is one of the only pictures I have of him and it really captures his serenity. He loved nature and preferred to lay in the leaves instead of the shelter. He was a peacemaker and didn't tolerate the other strays fighting. RIP Mr. Black

If so, is it alright to add [user not found]? She was a cat. Also, her name isn't actually what her name was in real life, that's on the profile, I don't know if it's alright if your pet's name doesn't match the real life pet or not.
