what is the galve goat, you might ask? well, it's a giant wicker goat they build every year in galve, sweden, which a majority of the percentage of the time gets burned down. it's one of my favourite things. they just keep on building it. people just keep on burning it down.

4. apart from the galve goat up there, one of my favourite parts of the holidays is my mom has almost a week off work, so i get to spend lots of time with hir :)

One of my favorite parts of the Holiday Season is actually Lumi here on subeta. There's just so much kindness and generosity flowing through the site this time of the year. One of my favorite RL holiday traditions is the Doctor Who Christmas special - but there isn't one this year :(

If anyone sees this please throw some gifts to my friend because I filled her empty tree and posted it to the Empty Tree board a while ago, but I'm worried she might've gotten passed over since her tree looks full.

4. I have been in charge of buying the gifts for my nuclear family for few years now, and it's always a joy to look for things they will like. It's especially fun looking for things for my parents because they never know what they want when I ask and they usually say they don't want anything or that they want [insert household item here]. I still get them the useful thing they needed, but I like getting them something unexpected that they wouldn't buy for themselves. I really outdid myself this year by getting my mom a Queen t-shirt from a Japanese concert and my dad a limited edition Moody Blues poster~ (I also always have a theme, and I bet you can't guess this year's.)

but... I also wanted to add some cats since my love of my life the reason I get up is Gismo, a hairless sphynx cat. The image isn't him but looks similar to him. He just turned 12 today or erm a few hours ago. I wanted to be inclusive so I threw in a furry one ;)

What I ❤ about this time of year is people trying to help each other out more. In RL, I go to a food bank which is 3 hr travel (1.5 each way) with frail health. I would have needed to go get my Christmas basket; however, a rare exception made it possible for me to have it delivered :) I've gone to various parties, most of them free, where I got presents and or food. I was even given extra food sometimes because the organizers know my situation & I hadn't been able to go to the food bank for 1.5 months. Today, I'm going for a special all-dressed lunch (turkey, meatball stew, meat pies, etc.) and the 30th I'm going to the same organization for a special New Year's lunch. It's nice to have activities to feel included and break social isolation.

For Christmas day, I'm going to my aunt's that's 2 hrs away (& 2hrs back... same day). My father's side of the family goes there for a traditional Christmas meal (turkey, meatball stew, tourtiere, mashed potatoes, appitizers, desserts and oh so much more). We started at my grandparents and over the years it's been at one of my aunt's/uncles... but not my parents as they live further away from the family. I'm really looking forward to this one because we haven't had a kid in the family in decades but we have a new addition this year, my older cousin moved back to Quebec after being years in British Columbia and it's the first time I'll see him in a long time... and I bought noise-reducing earmuffs hoping I might finally be able to eat with the family instead of aside due to overstimulation.

Not exactly a meme, but this was from a pretty viral video. (: Penguins are great, they always make me smile.

London..in winter. A merry stroll at the bank of the Thames. It was one of my best decisions to go there.

I value family time greatly. And it is so much fun prepping the meal! But it's not Christmas until the tree is decorated - and I always make sure the little 4 wooden violins, an angel and a heart made of wax and the advent wreath ornament that has been in our family for a very long time, especially those made out of wax.

• Honestly, though, I'm not really into Christmas in real life as I used to and this part of my comment is going to be a bummer and therefore I know this won't count for the 4th point entry but I need to get this off my chest. I have worked in reail for about half my life now and people get so mean around the holidays. Two years ago my mom died right before Christmas and it's tainted the holidays for me since. Also my husband is disabled but not receiving disability from the state yet so money is extremely tight so I can't give gifts like I normally would. I also don't have anyone in real life that cares for me besides my husband so the only real life gift I have is from one of my Instagram followers that's sitting under my tree in an Aamazon envelope. Basically I'm super depressed and I always am thist ime of year (which is probably why I always find myself playing Subeta hardcore November & December).

** This is my favorite time of the year mostly because its a positive time, people are happy, sharing, and together. I love the Christmas decorations so much and I have a passion for Christmas tree so every year this is like my hobby, to prepare ornaments or a theme for the tree. This year I made it Harry Potter and looks awesome. ^__^

My favorite thing about Christmas is riding around & looking at Christmas lights, we spend a couple hours together laughing and cutting up, no electronics, no outside, just us. It's awesome!!! Also, i gifted a couple people from the empty trees thread.
