MUSKRATS.
That is a muskrat.
And it is adorable.
I went to a restaurant last night with my parents. It overlooks a small pond and there are two muskrats who live there. They were so active last night and I was so excited watching them, lol. They apparently hate geese though, because there were geese on the pond at one point and those two tiny little suckers went nuts, biting the geese on their butts to chase them away.
But seriously. Muskrats are like teeny tiny beavers and they might be assholes sometimes because they steal eggs from water birds/animals, but they're so goddamn cute I can't stand it.
Oh gee, I have to say Blood Red Parrots or Red Bellied Piranhas both are very fun to own! :D
Imo bats don't get enough love outside of Halloween. Even during Halloweem they're depicted as all spooky and malevolent but really they're freaking adorable.
I've liked raccoons lately, but my favorite has to be axolotls!
They're so cute; their little mouths look like they're always smiling! And they eat by sucking in water in the direction of where the food is, so their mouths just toggle between c: and O:
They can also regrow lost limbs! They're just silly, cute little friends <3
Gotta go with any cephalopod anywhere. Octopi are so clever! I just wanna hug a cuttlefish (a group of which I've declared a cuttle puddle). A nautilus is just bumping around like "Derp, can't see where I'm going, but I have a fairly efficient form of locomotion!" OH, and the camouflage!

...And dinosaurs!
I will buy your left over Steamworks trinkets!
Grumpy Cat is my spirit animal.
I'm here for the pigeon love too! And of course snails, they're lil' slimy friends.
i love pigs and wild boars a lot! theyre so cute and i love watching them play and wag their tails
Fossas <3 I love lemurs, tenrecs, viverrids, opossums, horseshoe crabs, sea turtles.
Actually, I love pretty much all animals, really. My favorites are the felines, but I don't think they'd be considered "underrated."
I think my love of cats is why I love the fossa and the viverrids (which include civets, genets, and the binturong) because they remind me of cats, as do some lemurs to some extent (I think it's the eyes).
There are many species of lemurs that are absolutely gorgeous, just google lemur species and look at all of them. They're beautiful and interesting animals.
Tenrecs are interesting because they've filled various niches in Madagascar and superficially resemble hedgehogs, moles, shrews and other animals and the roles they fill are even more varied with some even being aquatic, almost like otters. It's interesting when a single lineage explodes into a number of species, especially having so many species that resemble completely different animals -- excellent examples of convergent evolution.
Opossums are extraordinary because they're marsupials living in the Americas. People think of Australia whenever marsupials are mentioned but we have our own, and they live throughout all the Americas, and it's amazing to think of their common ancestry and how they came to be (with South America, Antarctica and Australia all having once been connected).
Horseshoe crabs are awesome just as they are, as are sea turtles. I'm now too tired to explain why they're awesome, although if you give me any animal, just name it, I'll tell you what I think makes that animal fascinating.
I love Margays!
My name is Kira/Erik. I'm Nonbinary, and my pronouns are They/Ze. [flower=MusicEmo]
Gotta agree with above too, bats are adorable af! The ones we get around here are little poof balls. One flew into our apartment one time and circled around the living room until I led it back out to the back door in the kitchen. One cat wanted it, and the other cat was cowering. XD
But look at this little derp! V

Grumpy Cat is my spirit animal.
I love most animals but 2 of my favorites would be Octopi and Red Pandas <3 I think the red panda gets skipped over for pandas and raccoons way too much! I mean, they're the perfect combo of the 2 and it's red, how freakin cuuuute!? And I've had a deep love of octopi since 3rd grade when I watched a documentary on cephalopods (specifically cuttlefish, squid, and octopi). The blue-ringed octopus especially interested me!
I also really love bats and mourn how misunderstood they are.

I really love Raccoons. theyre so cute and i love their little hands :')

Has to be the platypus. Absolutely bizarre and adorable at the same time, a feat of evolution.
Rats and snakes. Being the co-owner of 3 jumbo rats and now 4 snakes (two ball pythons, an African house snake and a dumerils boa) I just.....they're so cute. I can't understand people who think rats are disease-ridden pests when they're fluffy, adorable and smart as all heck (sometimes too much for their own good, little buggers), and snakes are certainly not slimy or gross, just derpy and liking to get into places they shouldn't if left unattended XD
