At what point did you guys start using boosters? I've been holding onto a few dozen/100k + exp for ages bc my pet is only newly T5, so I'm wondering if I should save it until later or if it doesn't matter. I just see there are like a billion seasonal challengers coming in the next couple months that I'd like to be able to fight :O

I use them whenever, but if you want to hold off, wait till tier 6 and go from there, using your EXP to even out your stats if that is your thing. :) Or use half your hoard and save the rest for later.

If I am focusing on a single pet, I'll generally increase their stats however I can.

You'll always get more boosters and EXP, especially if you are able to do BQs and Quentin's Quests (for those *amulets).

[sup]*I do hoard amulets for a while before I turn them in to Mage Quests, because whether or not the return rates are actually better when turning them in in bulk, it definitely feels like it.[/sup]

The only reason I used boosters for my main pet before T10 was because I could not use 90% of my armory due to the tier system. The only reason to use boosters is to quickly gain stats. If you're not in a rush to gain tiers, it's better to hold onto booster until training times become very long and exp costs go up.

Ok, thanks all :) 's point about holding off until it gets to be too long is kinda what I was getting at. I guess I'll wait until ~T9 then? thanks again guys ^^

just also finally spent the time to refresh nightshade for 5 minutes until i finally unlocked him as a challenger and got some more free Hard tokens! gonna get to that mecha helmet thing eventually lolol

I always hoarded boosters until I needed more stats in a hurry. If there was an event challenger that I could get a win or two but I needed a boost to get to five, then I would use my booster hoard. Or if I got impatient to get to the next tier so I could use a certain weapon.

I wish you luck in the waiting game! I never had the will power to save my boosters for that long :P

Out of curiosity, was Baal always an achievement reward or was it Meatslab's regular 5th win loot before everything turned into a 5th win achievement reward?

Good luck! makes another good point in regards to boosting to get wins on event challengers. However, keep in mind that the only real worth while loot is dropped by either extremely hard or impossible event challengers that are suited for high T9+ pets. I still would save boosting for when you are a higher tier unless you have the funds to continue boosting if you use them all now.

Baal was always 5th win achievement loot. He used to drop 3 tomes though on win 5. The BAs are just being stingy with CS challenger loot. Why is beyond me.

@ Wesker Thanks! I was poking around for a second Baal, but I wasn't sure how they were gotten before the reset. And I thiiiiink the BAs are treating battle loots they should all be magical unicorns: rare, wondrous, and expensive. Except we can't drink their blood and become immortal. Or is that mermaid flesh?

Actually, that only seems to apply to useful battle items- weapons and scrolls. Food, plush, even books, drop as many times as we have pets to do five wins. (Not that this is a new observation, but I'm not properly caffeinated right now)

By "event challengers" really I just meant Nightlady :P Gimme those Shrieks. And I think jellies inspired a random boost one time. But yeah, I don't remember boosting like that pre-T8/9/10.

Sometimes it's not just about the actual worth of loot though, the satisfaction of finally being able to beat an opponent, regardless of tier, is a major motivator too.

They’ve been turned into bots. That’s why the challengers and new weapons that keep coming out make no sense :p

Yeah there was that annoying jelly dino that came out that dropped the strong stomp scroll. That was nice.

I don't think my pet was strong enough to earn that one. I wish really old loot would make a reappearance here and there.

I think I had just boosted my main to the start of T12. The battles were a pain but he did it.

They should put either old no longer obtainable weapons and scrolls in the battle shop for impossible tokens for a short period of time or release new equivalents. I’m fine with them even just being released as achievement battle loot. It could be something like get 50 wins on x challenger. It gives battlers incentive.

Maybe. But I'm not sure we had a more mermaid like challenger. Unless we're going to kill Merana and make finger food of her corpse. We'd have to find a new way to get Hydrus pets then though.
