my plot is closing in on being finished, too... I'm hoping I complete the 50k words and the novel (short novel lol) at the same time. If not, I have some ideas for 'epilogues' to stretch the words ;)

Synopsis
A social worker tries to escape her captors and save them from a vampire, while her family will be trying to find and rescue her.
Excerpt The door made some clicking sounds, then opened. Another man was there - the other man from the bar. The one who’d been openly staring at Karen.
“Ms. Weston, we need your help.” The man didn’t look like a person asking for help. He looked pissed off, mostly. He glared at Daniel and then looked with only slightly less of a glare at her.
“You kidnapped me to get me to help you?” She couldn’t suppress the incredulity.
“As Daniel said, we extracted you to protect you. We still need your help. It’s what you do, isn’t it? Help people in need?” The angry man raised one eyebrow.
Despite herself, she agreed. “Usually I like them to apply in writing for a grant and wait for an appointment, though.”

it's kind of difficult to go through such a long story and find an entertaining and standalone excerpt, so I used the one that I found despite its flaws.

i do! like most of the edits you need to make i think are just like, tightening up dialogue tags and the like. i think the substance of it is very good :)

You might not want to read it... it's not really like horror at all, but it does have vampires and .. that's sort of horror.

i'm good with vampires, the problem for me would be doing that much reading. but i'd definitely be down to give it a shot! it'll just probably take me a while.
