oh, I love Quebec!! That place is absolutely gorgeous! :D We went a couple years back and I am still in love with it! I hope you saw the Fairmount Chateau, I was stunned by how grand it was! And it's been at the back of my mind his whole life, really. I had him reading and multiplying by the time he was three and then I put him in kindergarten and they were teaching the class 2 letters a week and learning colors and counting :/ he was SO bored he quickly became a discipline issue. And now that he's a 4th grader the class is finally catching up to his intellect, but at this point he's used to not having to pay attention or do any work so he was falling behind and becoming disrespectful to the teachers. And they are no longer seeing him as a smart bored kid who needs some patience, but more like an annoyance that won't let them do their jobs. So I feel like it's just better for everyone to bring him home. I can give him the one on one and patience he needs to teach the way he learns, he gets to have a bit of a say in what we study so he feels in control, he's not being told he's a 'problem' and the teachers and rest of the class aren't facing constant distraction. Now I just have to make sure I don't fail him, keep pushing him to chase his curiosity and give plenty of time to play with other kids.
