I did put a child lock on it. I was afraid I would come home to a catsicle if I didn't, as I wasn't sure he could get OUT if he managed to get all the way in! :)

Yeah...idk things aren't great rn. It's all me and my fears getting in the way of my relationship. I feel like I messed up too much or I'm not how he thought I was. I just...I'm screwing this up with all my fears I feel it...I'm sorry I'm really in a bad place rn and I'm scared that if I let him know he's going to leave. Too much depression and he's not going to want to stay in the relationship and I don't blame him. Sorry I'm just ranting rn, I needed to talk

He was sneaky, too. I am sure he'd been doing it for a while, as I'd wonder why things went missing, but one morning I found a meat package on the kitchen floor the day after grocery night. I knew I'd put it away and it was still cold from the fridge, so I assumed it had fallen out when I got a diet coke or something. Then a few minutes later I heard a weird noise and went back and he had that same package of meat again. Fortunately he had not managed to get it open, so the meat wasn't ruined.

wow, yes, sneaky! I am impressed...

It was a real relief to learn that I hadn't been misplacing or completely forgetting about food and that the food that had disappeared had actually been eaten.

But it was also scary because I had to go to work that morning and get the toddler lock after I got out, and I was so happy that the cat was fine and not in the fridge when I got home!
