Me, I'm confident that the Tea House is being completed apace.
In any system in which there is limited pool of labor, the workers can spend a lot of their time reporting what they did, or they can do more of their job with that reporting time. Subeta has demonstrated in the past to most users' satisfaction that it's staff don't need constant screenshot by screenshot supervision. Revealing their development process would be harmful to them because if it is successful others can copy it at minimal cost, so they have every reason to just plain not do this.
I have art skills, I can draw paint play music on several instruments modern and electronic, and dance. But I have one and only one CW and I agree it's legitimate to say that the CW process is complicated and difficult. I know a graphic artist who does logos and design for real business clients and the CW process here as difficult as it seems to me? Not very much at all compared to the hard work of what she does. Do the CW system and Subeta's battle system need to be completely supplanted because they are difficult? No. But Subeta may nevertheless choose to please many different kinds of users and a simpler minion combat system might be fun for more people.
whatever it is, surely is not worth the wait
Subeta has always had an issue of half finishing things, or not keeping people informed about what is happening with projects that they promise. Generally we don't get an update until a board like this is made and people make a fuss.
I wish, as I always have, that Subeta would keep us updated on projects. Nothing long winded, but a quick news post saying "Remember that survey? We're still working on it!" hell, use Tania and make it a news post about the upcoming area or something if you want to be creative. As usual, subeta could do better about communicating.

in my opinion, putting out something that is decidedly complete will pan out better with everyone than putting something out that wasn't to their total satisfaction. there's been an update, i'm going to trust it'll be worth it. but i hardly remembered this until i saw this thread so it's no real issue for me to not put more emotion into it than i had before
Honestly, I kind of forgot the tea house was even a thing. It wasn’t something I paid a huge amount of attention to when it was polled so, eh, it’ll come out when it comes out. I’d rather have a product released fully tested and complete than one that isn’t.
Personally, I hope that the tea house never gets finished. You know what tea is, right? It's just filthy leaf water! It's pretty much a swamp, except you put in a cup and then you drink it. yuck. [sub]just in case it's not clear, ^this is a joke^. [sub]i just don't like tea that much[/sub][/sub]
Really, I'm surprised that it's been a year. It feels like we just did all that wedding and donating. (or maybe I've just been busy. ha.) Anyway, I'd rather have something that'll be more interesting than what could have been: "here is some new NPC" or even "Ujin owns a regular restock shop now" & "we moved a bunch of items from the food stores into it and made it a NEW food store." Other people might not, but I enjoy the little... job-things that have been added, like the unliving alchemy, baking stuff, the chattiest girl, etc, so if the tea hut had something like that? I'd be happy.
Guess while I'm on that, Shengui Guo tends to have more gimmick things (and I don't mean gimmick in a bad way; I mean it in the novel/different way). It's not just shops, it has rotating items, little guys you can buy (& some only if they like you), and the bathhouse rewards for logging in every day. Even the adopting a zentu page is more than the regular "here's a bunch of images, pick one, make one" that most other pets get. It's a land of something different, instead of just more of the same.
And, for the: could staff do a monthly update on things? I do like the idea of Tits McGee news lady (who has a name almost like that) doing an update. :d Though, I'm not sure what it would say. "We are doing this list of things. They are coming." like the replies to these questions always are... And I feel like the teahouse is also occasionally brought up in the site update weekly posts, but I've been doing a bad job keeping up. Then again, I only spent site money on the idea of a thing and didn't care that much which we got first to begin with.
& RE: Minion zoo/battling Different people like different things. I like/d the minion battling. I liked what it could have been and would still play if if/when it came back. Like... simplified down to a element circle and has every minion of that type have the same stats but different skin. More than just rock/paper/scissor; but sort of the most basic pokemon. There is no reason to add different stats to each and every little dude. Just make groups all the same stats, but you pick the skin & give it a little name. If we got cock minion fighting at the back of a gangster tea house? I'd be down for that. :P
But mostly I liked that it would have been: an even playing field for a while. Battling with regular pets is aggravating for stupid reasons. (as I am still upset over the ages ago revamp where my years of experience training (like a regular idiot, at the training center, because I both could not afford the strongest weapons and wasn't lucky enough to place in events to get them) suddenly meant a whole lot less because the small group of top, boosted battlers boosted their pets too much and then weren't having fun. And, how was that dealt with? Not by capping stats lower and/or making new, stronger dudes to fight, but instead by making every enemy stronger across the board and destroying being able to fight those things after years spent training.) I still pretty much hate regular pet battling because it feels so disconnected from the rest of the site, but I mess with it so I can get pretty garbage during events. And, maybe if I'm lucky, that garbage is a weapon that I can use in future events to get MORE GARBAGE because I happened to exist during the previous event and got that weapon that was only available one time FOREVER.
Anyway. I also like the minion zoo because it's nicer than just putting the ones I prefer into a shop or onto a pet treasure. Other people obviously like collecting them too and it was a good addition/compromise for when the old shops were removed. It was staff listening to users and giving them a new collection page for the things they already collected because people wanted it to happen. Do people want more out of it? Of course they do, because people always like more, and it's easy to come up with ideas. Implementing ideas (and updating old code while keeping everything else going) is another thing entirely.
