- never leaveeee! I do like the petshop idea. We did a lot of farm related things a few Vesnali's ago that went down very well. We probably have got a bit bogged down with all the people on the site treating their pets as characters rather than actual non-speaking dependant type pets, which is why we've been focusing on creating all kinds of items to fill TCs with (like tools and vegan food) that aren't...actual pet items. That's something that feels like it could be a nice future monthly theme!

- We will not be going back to a time where any artist can draw any pet - it was chaos, and causes too much inconsistency.

Not all artists are able to draw each pet, some are better with robot types, or insect types, or bird types. People are assigned to what they are best at or most able to create art for, with the workload spread as evenly as possible. We move pets between artists from time to time, and there is an adjustment period that takes a lot of time and resources that we just do not have time to dedicate over and over again. The most recent of which being the malticorn, which I used to draw but have now assigned to - and that was because it was never my design to begin with, and I'd never felt I was great at drawing it. User response was never excited or passionate. As much as my art was ok, there was something missing in the character. And nobody else could get it right either, until !

We are able to create what we create for this site because of the high morale we are able to achieve by doing things that help us grow and we can make a connection with. When an artist is assigned something that isn't right for them, frustration builds and the art declines. We release pets nearly every week, which I still believe is a good amount. Aqua is nearly complete as a colour, we have a lot of vibrant pets ready to go and right now we have around 18 repose pets in progress.

I'm not really going to talk much more about what happens behind the scenes, because it's easy to speculate on what could be done better from the surface, but there are so many things to be taken into account.

I am always interested in creating more pet-related things for the site, though. I hear that you want more things, and that can happen!

The pet slot for quest-a-thons are the only consistent prize. I'm working with and on coming up with some rad other prizes to go along with it, but I will die on the hill of making sure the quest-a-thon always has a pet slot prize.
