It looked like Blade had a little pout when Callista took her phone back. “What is a battery? Is that like elxcerty?” He had just bought a keyboard that was spelled to not need to use that what was it called plog? He looked at the phone with great interest as it played the peppy song. “That’s wicked. I wonder if my grandfather knows of this? I suppose he does…” He blushed a little when she said to slow down on the questions. “Sorry.”
“Wow five year age difference then,” he said. “Yours is a hyena? That’s unusual I believe. Mine’s a thestral.” He knew his was rare. He shook his head. “No, mother and father are far too busy to have another child or didn’t want another. I’m not sure really.”
He had another blank look at Kiara. “Instant grans? Why would you want fast grandparents? What is internet? Some sort of large nets?” She was saying far too much that he didn’t know so he stopped asking.
He really didn’t know what Callista was saying and he wasn’t allowed to take muggle studies so it would be likely he’d really understand.

& everyone
"It's exactly like electricity. A battery stores electricity so that you don't have to plug the device into the electric power to use it. A solar charger is a device that makes electricity out of sunlight and puts it into the battery." Callista smiled. "And, sorry, but while I have a nice case on it, if you drop it, it'll break, and using a Reparo on an electronic device is kind of a crapshoot."
She considered the rest. "Two years between Camilla and Fiammetta, and five years between Fiammetta and me, yeah. We have a lot of kids in my family. It's nice though, I like having sisters and cousins. Internet is a little hard to explain, but it's like a big library combined with big bulletin boards and a marketplace. I'll show you sometime when we're off campus and not near the water. It's easier to show it than to explain it. And Instagram is a way to share pictures with lots of people. I can't connect to it from here, but I have one. It doesn't have anything to do with grandparents."

Kiara started laughing. "No no, Callista's right, it doesn't have anything to do with grandparents. It's a combination of words - 'instant camera' and 'telegram.' Because it's snapshots and short blurbs about life." She thought a moment and then said, "Wait, do you know what a telegram is? Did they ever use those in the wizarding world? I can't remember."
Agreeing with Callista again, she said, "The internet is like a huge newspaper that everyone can contribute to, and instead of physical pages, they're all on the screen." she pointed to the phone.

"Oh I see. My granddad told me of exlectristy before." Blade nodded about not breaking her toy. "I didn't know that."
He listened to the girls. "I see. My head is spinning with all this. No don't know what a telegram is."

Zoe finished breakfast very quickly as she raced outside, tucking a thin plastic mac in her pocket in case of rain. She smelled the crisp clean air. "I love the smell of rain," she said to no one as she made her way towards the gates. She was in a good mood. Her Uncle sent her money for her birthday, which was a few days ago and she was very much looking forward to spending it it. She also had passed her apperation test so now she was legal to use it and she could use magic whenever she wanted to. Her dog, Reggie ran along beside her. He seemed happy to get out of the castle grounds and explore as well
Blade was anxious. He left without eating anything. He wanted to get to the owl post office since he got notice that he was to pick something up from there. It was annoying, why couldn't the owl just deliver it to him at breakfast?
((I'll bring Magnus in later.))
"ZOEEE!!!!" Jona ran up to the blue-haired girl as the white blur of fur known as Duncan darted past her to meet up with Reggie. While the two hugged it out, Sauvage walked up to them from behind and smiled at the heart-warming scene. She nodded at Blade too, who was walking nearby.
Jona jumped and quickly ran over to Sauvage. "Did you bring them? Where are they?" He looked frantically as he circled Sauvage and started at every alcove her person provided.
"Calm down, Jona." Sauvage folded her arms to cover up slightly, the younger boy making her feel uncomfortable with all the staring. She laughed, though, knowing it was good-natured. "Here," she said simply as she pulled two packages from her small handbag. "Zis eez from me," she handed Zoe the beautiful pink-wrapped gift. Next, she pulled out a brightly colored package that was quite as nicely wrapped as the other. She said, "And zis eez from Jona. We are soory to 'ave meesed your birfday a few days ago. Jona was..."
"I GOT SICK!" Jona shouted and threw his hands into the air as if the words were actually the telling of his death. Every the dramatist, Jona recounted the grotesque and miserable experience of spending the past week locked up in the Hufflepuff Commons while Sauvage did her best to make ailments for him.
"Hey Jona!" Zoe said brightly as she hugged him. Reggie greeted Duncan dancing around her with his swirl of black. "I missed ye. Was beginning a rescue plan to get ye out of the dorms. Figured ye were being held captive by the Fat Friar and an army of evil pirate ghosts," she teased. It sounded like something Jona would find amusing. "Hey Sauvage, how are ye?"
Blade nodded to the pair. "Sup?" he said mildly.
"Aww for me?" she said. She was surprised anyone knew to be honest. "Thank ye both." After hearing Jona was sick she frowned. "I'm sorry ye were sick. I'm glad ye're better now. Sauvage took good care of ye huh?" She opened Sauvage's first and saw a game of beer pong which amused her and a delicious looking lemon cake. "Thank ye so much!" She gave her a hug and put the box into her bag. She even neatly folded the wrapping paper up and tucked it in too.
Then she opened Jona's and saw a shark plushie as big as she was. Why she could even fit in it. She laughed heartily. "I'll be snuggling in this come colder weathers." She gave him a hug. "Thank ye Jona. And ye aren't the worst friend ever," she said pointing to the tag. "Ye were sick."
Blade had known Jona was sick but didn't think it was really his business to tell.
Both Sauvage and Jona laughed at the prospect of the Fat Friar kidnapping anyone. "If he did that," Jona said, "It would be to throw a surprise party or something!"
Sauvage happily received and returned Zoe's hug. She did not know the girl too well, but nonetheless was grateful to know she liked the gift. Jona had scoured all of his available resources to learn of Zoe's birthday months ago and had been counting down the days, flitting about to try and find the right gift. This was probably why he got sick, what with all the stress. He would never tell Zoe that, though. And since he was running around so much, that was how Sauvage learned of the occasion as well. And, well, once you learn it is someone's birthday, you cannot rightly ignore such an event. You simply have to get them a gift!
"Yeah, you know me..." Jona blushed a little, not really understanding why himself, and kicked at the ground shyly. "So, while I've been getting rehabilitated what have you been up to?"
While Jona and Zoe got on with each other, Sauvage decided to meander closer to Blade. She had not yet had the opportunity to really get to know him and felt ashamed of how she had acted in the past. She asked, "How 'ave you been? Where eez eet you are off to today?"
Paddy had been looking forward to the Hogsmede visit for what felt like forever. She took a deep breath as she set foot outside, the smell of the damp ground reminding her of her Uncle's cabin in the woods. "Hi guys," she said as she joined them, "I thought I'd better bring Remus with me, in case he decided to eat more of my homework while I was out. I'm hoping he'll be a bit better behaved though," she added, knowing that news of Remus' wild nature had probably spread across all of Hogwarts already.
Niamh pushed her purse into her pocket and rushed out of the dorms to join everyone. She spotted Zoe, Jona and Sauvage who all looked pleased to be outside, but noticed that Blade didn't seem quite so eager. If anything, he looked a little preoccupied. "Everything ok?" she asked as she caught up with him.

“Or maybe that’s what he wants ye to think,” Zoe said giggling. “Then he lures unsuspecting people into his lair and hog ties em!”
“I passed my apperation test,” Zoe said. “So I can come and go as I want outside of Hogwarts. Uncle sent me some money and… I think I may have thought of a career.”
Blade looked a little surprised to have Sauvage talk to him. “Okay I guess. You? Oh, er got notice to go to the owl post office that’s the only place I need to go. You?”
Reggie sniffed Remus and wagged his tail. “Hey Paddy,” Zoe said. “Is he worse than Snowden?”
When Nimah arrived beside him and Sauvage Blade gave a little grunt. “I’m just annoyed the stupid owl post didn’t deliver the parcel to me. I have to go claim it.”
"Snowden used to eat more of my homework," Paddy admitted, "but I've been trying out some ways of distracting him. If I leave him with one of those muggle puzzle feeders I found over the break, he's not too badly behaved. I can't let him have that if Remus is around though, as he went berserk when I tried it with him."
"That's weird," Niamh replied, "I thought they always delivered parcels - unless it really is too big for a couple of owls to manage together."

"Maybe some doggy obedience classes?" Zoe suggested.
"Exactly," Blade said. But what could he have gotten that was too big for owls to deliver?
"'Ello, Paddy. Nice to see you." She smiled and waved.
"Oh, I 'ope everysing eez alright. I always get worried when I 'ear I 'ave to peek somesing up from ze post." She bit her lip and though better of what she said. "But I do not mean to worry you, I am sure sat everysing eez alright. Would you..." She hesitated, wondering if Niamh and Blade would prefer to be alone. "Would you mind eef I joined you?"
"HOLY CRAPOLA!!" Jona spun in circles and rested his hands on Zoe's shoulders. "So you're, like, basically an adult. What happened? What did you decide on for a job? I'm so excited you can separate! Does that mean you can take me with you, too?"
Sauvage's words didn't help Blade feel better. Now he was almost dreading what it could be. He gave a light little shrug. He didn't really have any preferences on who hung around. "Sure, if you want," he said. But now was wondering what he'd do with an audience if this was something super private. Like a mother packing 50 pairs of underpants and shipping them. He prayed there would be a letter to explain whatever it was before he opened it.
Zoe nodded. "Aye that I am," she said. "Well I saw an advertisement in the Quibbler for a journalist. Since I can nee pick one career, this seemed like a great idea. It'd mean I can go around and experience a lot of careers all in one. And i really do love writing. What do ye think? Oooh, and guess what, in town today, I needa stop by the petshop. Mum and Dad arranged for me to pick out an owl so I can send letters to everyone when I graduate next summer. I was thinking maybe ye'd like to tag along during our term break for a bit. Or I come visit ye." She giggled. "Aye, i can do side apperation as well."
(Ooc: I've got one more day before my nose splints can be removed and then I should be feeling better to post. I don't wanna miss Hogsmede since this is Torus first time going)
Despite Blade agreeing to her accompaniment, Sauvage could see that he was unnerved. "Per'aps I weell just walk to ze post wiv you and Niamh and zen go my own way from zhere?" She suggested the idea, partially because she did not want to push Blade and also because she thought the two may want some alone time. "I sink I would like to get a butter beer down at Ze Three Broomsteecks anyway." She smiled to herself; she could not help it. Any time she thought of The Three Broomsticks, she was reminded of her first date with Fade. Maybe by some random chance, she would run into him there. How romantic that would be!
Jona listened intently, enraptured by every word Zoe said. "I didn't know you liked to write? Journaling could definitely be cool, then. You'll have to send me copies of everything you write - especially if it doesn't get published! Then I'll be like the only one to read everything you write!" Switching topics to today's events, Jona rolled his eyes and offered his arm to Zoe to latch onto. "You know I never reject a trip to the pet store. Besides, I'd love to see the owls, too. I don't have one yet and I'm going to convince my uncles to get me one." Jona stopped dead in his tracks though when Zoe invited him to join her on break. He'd never been invited by a friend to do that before. He took a moment before stepping back into the rhythm of their previous walk. Giving Zoe's arm a little squeeze with his free hand, Jona said, "I would love nothing more than to see you on break."
(( good feel better <3))
"You could wait for a moment if you want, while I run inside the post," Blade said wondering if she sensed he was concerned it was bad news. The thought that Sauvage thought he and Nimah were together never crossed his mind. Nor did he actually think they were a couple, since he hadn't given it much thought. He did like her but aside from that he really had no clue. "And then we could go where ever."
"Aye, I've written poems and music and stories," Zoe said blushing shyly. "I do nee know ye want everything, when would ye study?" She smiled when he agreed to go to the petshop. "Excellent. I can nee wait. I hope ye can get one too." Now she smiled even more. "Excellent. I think we'll have a nice time."
"That's a good idea," Paddy replied to Zoe, "I'll have to see if I can find any ones that don't include Muggles though, otherwise Remus would probably be kicked out before they even got started, him being a Crup."
Niamh was just about to say she'd go into the owl office with Blade, when something in his tone of voice made her pause, "I don't mind waiting outside the owl office with Sauvage," she finally said, "you know, if you wanted to collect it on your own."
