She opened up her sketchbook. There were a lot of very lacy, frilly dresses in it, but there were also more masculine outfits, some drawn on male models, some on female models. The more masculine styles managed to be wildly rebellious and also somehow aristocratic--belted boots and pants with frock coats trimmed in heavy embroidery and also in chains and studs, wild hair and leather and metal and lace. There were swatches of fabrics and trims tacked to some of the pages. She'd also taken printed pictures from the internet and pages torn from fashion magazines (mostly not in English) and mocked up the way she'd have altered them if they'd been her own work. "As you can see, there's a lot of stuff in here. This is the one I'm currently working in. Be glad you're not looking at the ones from third year! I made a few lace monsters back in the day."
