I'm not looking to start a debate, but I think the US needs gun control laws. What is wrong with people? :(
The problem is people (Mostly those in the NRA) believe the constitutional right to bare arms (have a gun) supersedes all other laws or arguments. Nevermind with stricter laws 99.9% of them shouldn't or won't loose their guns (most people are at least sane and should pass a simple background check) but because there is a chance they's rather throw a hissy fit then see the problem with the system.
Just as a reminder, guys. If you have to say. "I don't want to start a debate, but" then it's probably an iffy subject matter. Everyone has understandably strong opinions they'd like to hash out on this issue, but please remember this is not the place for them.

Follow the money. Look at the NRA-backed politicians. Our president reversed regulations from the last administration put in place to make it harder for mentally unstable people to own weapons. NRA isn't about teaching people how to use guns safely anymore, it's only about selling more guns now on behalf of gun manufacturers
The U.S has gun control laws that need to be better reinforced. Unless you do a private sale Illegal in many states you HAVE to go through a background check. Period. Many of these shootings happen with individuals who passed the background check. Or if not, they stole the weapons.
I do agree they need to eliminate the loopholes and have a working system though. Two recent tragedies might have been delayed or averted but the system completely failed (Individual should have been barred from purchasing weapons, but somehow came back clear.)
For the record, not all gun owners like the NRA. They're a lobbyist group, and that's about it. Personally not a fan.
