Thanks for this. I'll head over there to introduce myself. Will keep an eye out for the Morostide thread too.
I just noticed Basshunter has the song Boten Anna also in German, I wonder why :o There was a time - maybe the 60s - when lots of Swedish artists recorded songs in German as well, but that time has passed.
I have two music related topics for y'all (I will probably post them in the next event thread too)
Which were your favourite songs in ESC 2022?
You know any songs with like simple German lyrics? I need to practice my language skills. Only singing "Ich hab kein Geld und du hast kein Geld, wer hat den Mann mit dem Koks bestellt?" doesn't do enough for my training. Also I know the Schnappi-lyrics xD

Now I got to listen to that song in german

I don't know that many German songs, but there are a couple of "golden oldies" that were quite a hit in Belgium too. I don't know if they are simple lyrics, my German is bad, but because it looks a lot like Dutch, Belgians tend to sing along, being correct or not :P
99 Luftballons from Nena Verdammt ich lieb dich from Matthias Rein Du from Peter Maffay Ich bin wie du from Marianne Rosenberg
and a more recent one, that I actually like quite a lot (it was a summer hit a couple years back): Haus am See from Peter Fox.
[edit] Eurovision tiiiiime again! :D
I've updated the first post with the flags of the countries mentioned here, so we can show all the countries this group is representing. If you want to add your flag, just let me know your country! :)
PS some people on Chrome+Windows have trouble seeing the flag emojis, like myself. Apparenty there's an add-on / extention on Chrome, which can fix this: Go to the chrome web store, and add "Country Flag Fixer", then you can see all the pretty flags!
Happy Eurovision! Quite enjoy the UK’s entry this year, they are playing it a lot on the radio- “What the Hell Just Happened?”
I don’t think we’ll win but hopefully we won’t do terribly!
From the first semi, there were a lot of similar sounding ones. I liked Portugal and Netherlands, if you like slow songs. And if you like rediculous ones (mostly for the act), but also with a catchy tune, Estonia (espresso macchiato) and Sweden (SAUNAAAAA) are fun. :)
UK actually sounds quite fun, very curious about their performance!
I'm so hyped for Eurovision. I'm rooting for Latvia this year.
Loved them too, they were quite different than all the other acts. I didn't understand a word, lol, but I do appreciate so many singing in their own language again.
We are on the scoreboard! The girls did great, I hope we get some televises this year.
I’m loved Germany and Sweden’s entries, they were super catchy.
There were some great songs last night and the final results got pretty tense. My poor UK got nil points from the audience vote again!
I didn't vote for Austria but their song was very cool so I am glad they won. I really thought Iceland would have done way better than they did.
Aww, I feel sad for the 0 points. There must be people voting, but always just outside of the points. I did actually quite like the song, it was quite catchy. At least you were in the finals, we ended up 2nd to last in the first semi, lol. Everyone here always thinks that "this year, we're definitely going to win".
Also loved Germany's, that tune kept replaying in my mind: balalalalalaler
Hello! I'm a newbie on Subeta and joined the group, since I'm Europe-based and wanted to check in with people active in similar timezones!
