@ Skolletta I've found two more useful, small suggestions for the list while combing through old threads for sMail suggestions. c:

Make loyalty totems transformable Event reminder of friend birthdays

And one that's been making my brain itch: let users choose if they want to share their saved outfits. Saved =/= shared. I don't want to share some of my saved stuff because it took ages to come up with it, and currently I'm forced to do just that when I save something as a preset for future use. People who have blocked me and who I have blocked can also see my saved outfits simply by logging out. It's also possible to view outfit items while being logged out.

So this is one of those suggestions that I'd say needs a separate board. I can see it falling outside of the general small-changes that are best listed here. Not to mention, I can see some dissenting opinions (partially because I personally like the way it is now. :P)

Mm, I agree with as it'd be a fairly big overhaul to add/alter those features and probably merits further discussion. Also, I don't know of anyone who just combs through other people's saved outfits if they aren't posted on the forums. Does that actually happen?

I'll add the other two though! c:

Thank you! I'll make a topic about the outfits today. c:

I've had some... fun experiences because I didn't want to display the items I was wearing on my profile, or tell someone what I was wearing, before the saved outfits option got revamped. If I have the display/hide option on my profile, I feel that I should have it for my saved avatars too, but that's going in the thread.

- Major Drills – add β€˜finished’ button or make the image clickable to refresh
This was done.
Quote
- Link back to the gardens after picking what you grow instead of Veta lake (which should really link to Centropolis)
This is incorrect; the gardens are in Veta Lake, NOT Centropolis. A link was added back to the gardens. No Centropolis link was added.
Quote
- Farmers Market Feed Autumn Dragon Family: Link to go back to donate/feed minions after you give them an item and link back to Veta</p>
<ul>
<li>Farmers Market Feed Autumn Dragon Family: Also have the shop search button for the item currently being asked for
These were done.

These will also be mentioned in today's sprint post. (COMING SOON)

Also could we remove anything that has its own topic? I think it might be unfair to put a suggestion here if it has its own topic - and it usually means it doesn't belong here if it has its own thread.

See, I always saw this topic as a kind of masterpost of useful QoL suggestions? ._. To me, the links to older, existing topics simply meant that, if you had something to add to the suggestion, you could do so in the existing topic instead of discussing it in this one. Stuff often tends to slip through the cracks in suggestions.

Plus, if there's an older, existing thread linked in this thread, I feel that it makes it easier on the minimods to keep the forum clean. They don't have to hunt the thread down to lock it.

ngl, this reply left me confused after I've gone combing through 20 pages of S&I topics to find old sMail improvement topics and link to them if they were unlocked. :'D Should I remove the links to those in my topic, and avoid them in a future Forum Group masterpost too?

No. What I said was specific to this topic, which has the following guidelines according to the first post:

Quote
What won&;t get added: glitches/bugs (these should go in the P&amp;B forums), large suggestions or controversial suggestions that should have their own topic
So it specifically says that 'suggestions that should have their own topic' won't be added. I was a little confused tbh why the links to those topics were kept on the list.

Yes, this is a master list of sorts:

Quote
This is a compiled list of usability/random improvement suggestions that aim to improve our experience on Subeta, to make it easier for staff to find useful suggestions to implement.
It's easier for staff if we don't need to skim over things that are repeats of topics we've seen elsewhere :) It's easier to find the actual suggestions we are here for. And it prevents anyone from accusing this topic of being a way to "bypass" the normal process for suggestions in this forum, definitely not an accusation I want the awesome maintainers of this topic to have to deal with.

Ah, I get it now. Thank you for explaining! :'D

I recently linked to old QoL threads I've made a while ago for the sake of ease and not de-railing this thread with discussions, whoops. :'| Sorry about that!

I think it's more reasonable if the topics this thread is linking to are so old they're basically impossible to find otherwise. So I guess it depends?

What I was specifically thinking of, are the topics where it was requested by staff that they be discussed more on their own topic, and topics that can still be found in the first few pages of the suggestions forums (especially the first page) - In those cases it's a bit redundant since we can already see them on the first page.

I guess we should also ask and what they think about that :x

True! Maybe after a thread hits page 5, it can be linked to, or something? But then again, threads do get bumped back up when someone posts, so that might not work out either. ._. Hm. If it's past page 10, or is in archived suggestions, maybe?

And yeah. :'D It's their thread after all, I was just slightly confused and mostly curious.

@ Bug @ Frost Hai there.

I can definitely see the argument for removing linked threads off the thread. Especially for the very large, and the controversial. I guess my question is, is there a grey area? Boards can definitely be forgotten over time- so is it preferred that they be removed from here, and someone can repost? Or leave them linked here.

Take Edit Trades Description - a suggestion from 2014. I have no idea how much coding this would be, but from first glance, it seems like a small sort of site improvement. It received only support back then. Looking back in my personal recent history, I was told to make a few ideas in their own threads. I think Profile UI - Reverse the order of the HA clothes seems pertinent, because from an outside perspective, it seems like a really tiny suggestion (aka, I don't know what the code looks like.) It received 2 yay votes, but that's probably about it. I imagine it'll be forgotten about once it leaves the front page. (Admittedly, it'll take a while.)

So basically, is there a line that makes the 2014 board good for this thread, and not the 2018? If we're not old and senile in 2020, should we be going back and finding the missed 2018 suggestions to re-add them here? Or should all be gone, even knowing that the 2014 will most definitely be forgotten until the next person submits the idea?

tl;dr: I'm totally fine removing items that have their own threads. I'm just being devil's advocate. I'm not really worried about the "bypass" argument, because "yo, we're not even staff. why do you think we have power here?"

[edit]I also added those completed items to the front page. (I just re-wrote the garden one to not include Centropolis.)

Brilliant, I'll remove those this evening. c:

Unfortunately I really don't have time to give a comprehensive argument today, but I think my thoughts may be fairly well aligned with Chocolate's - I would like older or smaller threads with small suggestions and little contention to stay, but I'd be happy to remove any current threads that are receiving a fair amount of attention (particularly if the attention is negative). I've seen a lot of suggestions fall by the wayside in the past, particularly tiny user improvement-based ones.

I'm happy to discuss this further this evening (my time). c:

new suggestion: Inventory and using items, or should this fall under Food?

When you eat an Oofa Fruit and find a bug, you get this text only: "As bites into it, a wiggles out! Yuck!"

My suggestions:

  1. Add <item=bug> hover info or at least the png icon. (Didn't this used to be there, or am I misremembering?)
  2. Add a link for Back to Inventory, like there is when you eat an Oofa Fruit and there isn't a bug.

Whoops, later reply than initially expected! My apologies.

I would like to keep many of the topics that we do have linked for many of the reasons listed above - a lot of these suggestions are quite small, don't get much attention, aren't particularly controversial and fall through the cracks. Most of them are years old/locked.

I do understand that some of the linked suggestions are current, though, and that some of them are getting some debate!

I'd be happy to move all suggestions that already have current topics (i.e. that are still on the first page) to a separate section, if that would make things easier for you? That way we won't lose them and can move them back in if/as they get buried. And of course, we would never presume to bypass the usual vetting process. xD

What are your thoughts?

Agreed, but I don't think that suggestion really belongs here! c: You could make a topic, but I'm pretty sure it's on 's to do list. Very low down. x)

Sure, adding those now! c: I'll pop them under inventory as it's not really about food.
