You can send multiple items at once through the Gift Center, and you can send items directly from your inventory. If you just want to send sP, you can have your friend make a Reserved trade, and then you just offer however much sP you want on the trade. With these options, I think there's no need for another direct trade option to be implemented. There are also good reasons to not make it too easy to mass-transfer items or sP between accounts.
