You should definitely do what feels best for you, but the discord channels have little to do with my participating less here than I have in the past.
Rather, and I say this with all the love in the world, it's been the fact that many of your recent contests have required multiple HAs; the dance contest was just overwhelming with the number required and the categorisation, meaning that you had to do not just one but two for every single dance in a given category! The dance contest last year was great and I entered with two Middle Eastern dancers (idk what the rules are in Europe, but in America we don't say "Oriental" to describe anything but a cat), but this year I would have also had to do ballet and I forget what the other ones are.
I'm also not a fan of the ones where we have to dress up as specific historical personages. I don't mind using them as inspiration, but I don't like to dress up as real people, first because I find it kinda uncomfortable, and also since even though we are allowed to use any item in the wardrobe, I have a very large wardrobe and if it's not already in there, I don't want to spend 3 hours on subetalodge looking for it what with the "excellent" search and tagging functions on the subeta wardrobe.
PS: feel better! I'm so sorry about your arm! I burnt myself with boiling water several years ago and it was absolutely awful.
I have a couple of items from Japanese retailers (Yumetenbou and Uniqlo) that are designed to keep you warm without bulk, because I hate wearing bulky things unless I'm feeling bad and basically want to wear a blanket, with the exception of big airy sweaters.

those warm without bulk items sound great!
check out Uniqlo.com and DreamV on Rakuten Global Market. :) (DreamV is the English name for Yumetenbou, which means "dream vision".)

Tried a non-cw approach Outfit Not Found Hm
I was thinking the last two days, that the clothes of the future could or should be bio degradable, ecological. An example of this is the wineleather a vegan leather made of rest of wine. It's an interesting alternative to reduce animal cruelty and environmental impact.
looks amazing! The spacesuit top looks like a structured jacket that way. Great layering.
Thanks! I'll look!
thank you for the update. Best wishes to you and your husband and your cats ❤
wow, leather made of wine remnants, what a genius idea!
It is! When I read about it for the first time I was amazed.
Here are a pair of "leather" avvies, 100% vegan :D. Male/Female/non binarie. Whatever you want :)

does anyone know what the production carbon footprint for the wine leather is? It sounds like a good idea, but a lot of things that sound green require a lot of processing that can make them less green than they ought to be. As someone who's not and never will be vegan...leather beats PVC any day on the green front. Can the wineleather be made in colours other than burgundy without a lot of toxicity?
I actually expect to see natural fibres make a resurgence in the future, including leather and furs, but only taken from animals that we actually do raise for food. They are biodegradable, and in the future, I do believe people will come to realise that it's not ethical not to use all the parts of anything, plant or animal, that is killed, for something--even fertiliser, which is a good use for brains (which are dangerous to eat due to prion diseases, which cooking does not eliminate).
I always feel sad that "futuristic" in everyone's mind always equals sleek/functional. Now that everyone can have lace, bling and ruffles if they want to because it's not something only the wealthy can manage, why in the world would we go for a less embellished look when our tech just makes embellishments more and more and more affordable?
But then I'm a lolita fashionista :) I may make some futuristic HAs for this thread, but they definitely won't be sharp edges and colour blocks (because I hate that style personally lol).

You inspired me to make a 'futuristic lace/bling/ruffles' HA - thanks, Valiska!

As far as I know, they use the seeds, skin and stalks from grape to make this leather. Everything they need to make it are on those residues. There's a little text that can explain better than me lol. About leather color, I believe that the purpose of this company is not to change the color of their product at all. So, they produce leather in various shades of the same color. And about toxicity, if you think about it, there's nothing "free of toxicity" in the world. There is no such a thing as 0% toxic. I mean, if you drink 50 liters of water, you could die xD. The level of toxicity is measured in doses.
On the other hand, you said something that made me think about to do not waste anything. You got a point, I agree with you. I'm not vegan, either. I tried to be in the past but I couldn't keep it. But I know that the animal food production is so cruel and it means a great impact to the environment. I think this is because capitalism. Industries want to earn money at all cost, without taking into account the environment, the people's health nor animals.
And, to finish my post (omg! this is the first time I write more than three lines in one post!) I would like to say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so fashion it must be thought for satisfy all different tastes.
Well, obviously there are many different tastes!
But one of the things that I think was talking about was her fear that in the future, everyone will look the same! And when all depictions of future clothing are functional lines and colourblocks, without variation (as it is in so many science fiction media), that's depressing, not just because my taste isn't being catered to, but because my taste (and many other kinds of tastes) have apparently died out!
I know nothing is 100% toxicity free, and I think the idea of wineleather is great. But I don't believe that people of the future will only want leather goods in shades of burgundy. (For one thing, black leather is always a fave.) Nothing is ever cruelty-free, either. Factory farming of plants is incredibly dangerous for pollinators, wild and domesticated, damaging to biodiversity, and damaging to local wildlife as new areas are cleared because monoculture has worn out the soil, which must now be fertlised with fossil fuels.
Meat and hide production don't have to be cruel. You're right that it's corporations that are behind the lack of concern for the living conditions of the animals involved--small farms are usually quite nice. It's also corporation that's behind the extreme specialisation, factory style, that separates meat production from leather production and fur production, so that the cows and pigs people eat and the cows and pigs used for leather aren't the same animals, increasing waste and methane emissions, and the rabbits people eat aren't the ones that are used to make fur coats. But it doesn't have to be that way, any more than we have to keep relying on single grain and tuber species and killing our insect species off with things like Roundup.
My vision of the future includes individual artisans as well, so that people can have their own tastes. Etsy is just one of the platforms that enable small fashion and homegoods producers to find their own markets, and the Amazon and eBay marketplaces enable small businesses too (as does the original Rakuten in Japan).
Most of the avatars I make are from a science fantasy world of mine and involve a species of sapient obligate carnivores and the humans who live with them, so I'll make some new ones today for the contest if I can, but all those drapes and bustles and harem pants are just one of my future visions--comfortable, but pretty and individualised. The blue people, too, and they wear more traditional "scifi" aesthetics, but still with patterns and embellishments.
I've noticed that as people get more technologically advanced, their tolerance for discomfort lessens, and understandably! but shapewear doesn't have to be horrid and clothes don't have to be rough on the inside because they're embellished externally, any more than those annoying sewn-in tags are a necessity.
(I also think that the number of pet species will expand in the future and we will have to learn to get along with rather than just avoid wild animals that come into our living spaces. We've eliminated so many of their habitats, and we're going to have to learn to share ours with them. But it's not impossible. Dogs and cats domesticated themselves initially and one of the hardest problems with wild animal rehab is not letting them make friends with humans and stick around. Eventually we're going to have to learn to be friends though. Tigers will never live safely in people's homes, but fennecs and servals have already learned to live with people and do very well except when ignorant neighbours cause problems for them and their human families.)

I wish we'll have the Horns and Roses eye items restock again :/, the jacket cost too much lmao I will never have these many tokens.
Are you ok? -hugs- i bought it but stilll not sure if it was worth it lol
It would be 750 CSC now. Huh, LOL!
Yes, much better! A gastroc flu followed the burn so it was so not my week, LOL. Your prize flies over in some minutes, I am just at it, I lost connection due to a thunderstorm last night. ^-^

I bought the jacket! I have 124 wiz tokens left now, haha. I'd been saving them up for the last few months, so I was lucky. I really want the tail and eyes, though, so we'll see how they get released. I'm betting BHH and Recycling Shop. I have a HA ready for it, but I need to buy a Vanity item and a Delish item before it's ready to wear. Hope you're doing well this weekend ❤️
