Burns Night honors the iconic Scottish poet Robert Burns, who wrote the New Yearโs Eve anthem Auld Lang Syne.
Burns, born in 1759, wrote many of Scotland's most famous poems and remains a revered literary figure. He was a leader of the Romantic movement and helped inspire liberalism. Many Scots host a Burns supper on January 25, the poetโs birthday, although they can be held throughout the year. Some of the suppers can be grand affairs; others less formal. The events will often feature a bagpiper and traditional Scottish music and food.

I don't think I'm going to have time to put any HAs together before the deadline but I do have a song recommendation. This isn't technically the 'classic' version of the "The Skye Boat Song" but I really love The Outlander theme version ;) Link
This is my favorite Gaelic song; after watching the movie Song of the Sea over and over last fall, I love this song so very much.
Though it's Irish rather than Scottish.
